Harvesting of early grain crops at NIBULON’s branches was completed in November 2013. According to Kostyantyn Khmelnytskyy, deputy general director of production, this season the production branches have ensured one of the highest gross yields in the history of the company.
In particular, the gross yield of late grain crops has comprised 350 thousand tons, and the gross yield of sunflower seed of almost 30 thousand tons is a record figure for NIBULON!
Sunflower seed was harvested on the area of 11.9 thousand ha. The highest average yield of sunflower seed comprised 32.4 dt/ha at “Suhorabivs’ka” branch (Poltava region), and “Chygyryn” branch (Cherkasy region) demonstrated the highest output of grain – more than 3.8 thousand tons.
The highest corn yield was demonstrated by “Pryseymivs’ka” branch (Summy region) – 115 dt/ha. The total output of corn was carried out on the area of 18.5 thousand ha. “Kamyanets’-Podil’s’ka” branch demonstrated the highest gross grain yield which comprised more than 18.4 thousand tons.
Sorghum harvesting was started from Mykolayiv region and finished at the production branches of Lugansk region. On the area of almost 7 thousand ha the gross grain yield comprised more than 25.8 thousand tons. “Svativs’ka” branch (Lugansk region) carries the palm with the average crop yield of 58.3 dt/ha, and “Bilovods’ka” branch showed the highest gross grain yield of more than 9.2 thousand tons.
Crop yield of corn, sorghum and sunflower seed has increased by 30%, 84% and 11% respectively in comparison with last year.
Concerning other crops, including soya, “Pryseymivs’ka” branch (Summy region) ensured the highest average crop capacity – 29 dt/ha and “Bystryts’ka” (Zhytomyr region) branch – the highest gross grain yield of almost 846 tons.
Thus, despite prolonged period of harvesting of late grain crops in all regions (a peculiar characteristic of the current season), NIBULON’s agrarians ensured fair yield at all production branches of the company in Ukraine.
According to the specialists of the production department, at present sowing of winter grain crops has been completed. In particular, winter wheat, barley and rape seed were sown on the area of 22.8 thousand ha, 2.8 thousand ha and 2.3 thousand ha respectively.
Preparation for the next agricultural season is being continued; crops are being looked after.
At present plant protection means and mineral fertilizers have been applied; 94% of land for spring sowing was ploughed. The specialists of the departments sign foreign economic contracts for delivery of seed of cultivated crop hybrids.
