Today, we’d like to introduce you to a person who teaches others to pay attention to details, save lives, and leads by example – showing that true leadership begins with responsibility.
This is Iryna Kudaktina, Chief Software Engineer in the Software Development and Support Department, and at the same time, a certified first-aid instructor. Together with her husband, she has spent many years teaching children and adults how to act in critical situations, save lives, and respond without hesitation when every second counts.
When Iryna’s daughter started school, the couple began thinking about how to make the learning environment safer and more meaningful for children. That’s how their volunteer project, conducting practical first-aid lessons in educational institutions, was born.
“Usually, my husband and I take a few days off and visit schools, including those attended by the children of Nibulon employees,” Iryna says.
Iryna and her husband carefully adapt the material to each age group, from first graders to high-schoolers, so the information is accessible for everyone.
“Children are a particular audience,” Iryna adds with a smile. “First graders and seniors are very grateful listeners, but winning the attention of middle-schoolers can be a challenge. We tailor the training to each age group and use the amount of basic knowledge they can realistically absorb.
We taught them to recognize the early signs of a stroke or heart attack and understand how they can help. We also explained how to assess physical and mechanical risks to make sure one stays safe. We showed them how to call emergency services correctly, a skill many adults still lack. Children mustn’t panic, but know the sequence of actions the algorithm requires them to follow to protect themselves and assist others.
Even taught first graders how to place a person in the recovery position and call for adult help.»
Despite her extensive experience, Iryna continues learning – taking additional courses, studying new technologies, and updating her methods to meet modern standards.
“We teach others, but every two years we take new courses ourselves. Knowledge must stay up to date,” she explains.
Iryna is a leader who transforms behavioral culture and shapes essential safety skills that may one day save lives. She is genuinely happy when she sees people she has helped. Her strength lies in empowering others, teaching them how to act in critical situations, and not being afraid to take responsibility.
“I recommend everyone take a first aid course. I’d be glad to conduct one for our employees as well,” she adds.
Beyond her professional dedication and desire to help, Iryna proves that anyone can make their environment safer. Her example inspires both children and adults to become more attentive and responsible. Together with her family, she continues taking important steps to educate and support others in difficult situations.
