During the event, fifteen leading Danish companies presented innovative solutions for the agriculture and livestock sectors, as well as resource-saving production experience. Mykhailo joined the session “Grain/Feed/Energy Production: Path to the Global Market and Value Addition in Ukraine”. He not only presented NIBULON's experience during full-scale war but also outlined a plan to improve the export of agricultural products.Firstly, victory over the aggressor state and a clear mechanism to compensate for losses caused by wartime actions will contribute to the development of export potential.According to Mykhailo, revamping of logistics is also of great importance, as logistical expenses for market participants have multiplied since the beginning of the war. It is possible to launch effective logistics through amendments to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No.548 regarding a compensation mechanism for damage to civilian vessels during evacuation from Mykolaiv. This, in turn, will become a driver of new shipbuilding orders and enable the export of at least 500,000 tons of grain more from the Danube ports.Mr. Rizak highlighted humanitarian demining of land bank and waterways as the next priority stage. To conduct demining, the State Special Transport Service, the State Emergency Service and private operators of demining activities like NIBULON need assistance in procuring equipment, given that the cost of demining surpasses the land value. Thanks to the German government, NIBULON received a €4.8 million grant to purchase demining machines. The more Ukrainian demining operators have such machines, the faster agricultural lands will be returned to the economy.Mykhailo emphasized that Mykolaiv port facilities accounted for 30% of agricultural product export and are currently located near mined waters. Presently, 50% of the waterways are available for demining. Initial support from donors is required for the commencement of work, as the safety of navigation in rivers and ports necessitates platform vessels like the DSNS25 project developed by our designers. It is essential to provide the State Special Transport Service and the State Emergency Service with 15 such vessels. The access to investment and trade financing, particularly banking guarantees to Ukrainian business to receive financing amid the ongoing war, is crucial. Urgent financing is needed to purchase equipment and machinery to implement new precision farming and green technologies, to increase grain storage capacities, to enhance handling facilities at ports (cranes, loaders, etc.).Mykhailo also noted that preserving jobs in river infrastructure is a vital aspect of the export improvement plan. The river should be developed during the entire period of rebuilding the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant and construction of two lines of locks on it. Compensation for additional logistics until the reconstruction of the destroyed Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant can directly contribute to preserving jobs. In particular, compensation in the form of 50 hopper wagons to the river port has been implemented together with the USAID team. The implementation of each of these stages requires joint efforts of Ukrainian government, business, and international community to ensure global food security and comprehensive economic recovery in Ukraine.
