NIBULON, being a socially responsible company, realizes the importance of the issue and implements its own ecological standard. As part of the standard, the company allocates considerable funds to protect the environment and takes measures to prevent natural resources deterioration. Fish stocking is one of the measures.  
In October 2015, NIBULON started implementing its investment project to construct a transshipment terminal in Voznesensk district, to improve navigability of the Southern Buh River (from Voznesensk to Mykolaiv), and to construct vessels designed for operation on the given river. According to the Institute of Fisheries of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, the company must compensate UAH 196.212 thousand to fishery as a result of the operations performed on the Southern Buh River from October 2015 until July 2016. On a contract basis, NIBULON bought 152 thousand units of herbivorous fish (silver carp, grass carp) and carp (20-30 g) from GEMMA Ltd (Kherson) to this sum.
Fish stocking of the Southern Buh River was performed in two stages. On November 1, there were released 2.7 tons (88 thousand units) of fry in Prybuzhany village (Voznesensk district) near the company’s newly built transshipment terminal. Local citizens and administration, in particular Head of Voznesensk District State Administration Nataliia Balaniuk, Deputy Head of Voznesensk District State Administration Olena Kozub, Manager Officer of the Executive Apparatus of the District Council Ivan Bilokon, and Head of Department of Agriculture and Food of the district Volodymyr Maliarchuk visited the event.
During the second stage of the fish stocking there were released 1.6 tons (64 thousand units) of silver carp in Hurivka village (Nova Odesa district). NIBULON also performed dredging there. Fish stocking was carried out under the supervision of the special committee headed by Chief Fish Inspector of the Department of Protection, Use and Reproduction of Water Bioresources and Fishery Regulation in Mykolaiv region Yurii Shyshov. The committee consisted of the State Inspector for Ecological Monitoring Department of Natural Reserve Fund Inna Solomicheva, Fishery Biologists of the Department of Ichthyology and Reproduction of Water Bioresources and Fishery Regulation Yevhen Khyrenko. There also were community representatives.
According to NIBULON’s head of environmental protection department Alla Izmiestieva, this is not the first time the company carries out such measures.
“On the whole, the company has implemented compensatory measures to the fishery to the amount of about UAH 1.5 million during the period of our investment project to revive navigation along the Dnipro River and the Southern Buh River. At first we allocated more than 740 thousand to the local budgets and then started fish stocking. As a result, during 2009-2015 we stocked the areas of our activity (the Dnipro River, the Southern Buh River, the Kakhovka, the Kaniv, and the Kremenchuk reservoirs), where the elevators have been built, with 37 thousand tons of silver carp and carp”, told an ecologist.
The Head of Nova Odesa District Council Mykola Zabolotnyi shared his opinion on the NIBULON’s ecological standard, “This day is a significant one for Nova Odesa district. Why? First of all, there haven’t been such measures to improve fishery resources in Nova Odesa for more than five years. Our organizations in Nova Odesa were used for these purposes earlier. They were growing fry using of the state funds. Unfortunately, there is no money in the state budget for these measures. Taking the opportunity, I want to thank the NIBULON’s management. Once again they have shown how one should work; one shouldn’t use natural resources to get profit but should reproduce them. This is very good. I wish the company further successes¨.
Deputy Head of Nova Odesa District Administration Oleksandr Hrytsenko and Head of Hurivka village council Liubov Dzhulamanova also noted an exemplary model of the company’s policy to perform its duties undertaken.
“Besides dredging operations on the Southern Buh River, the company took on a duty to stock our river with fish, and it has been done successfully today. We are very grateful. NIBULON is our strategic partner in Nova Odesa district. I headed the working group which has been supervising the dredging. I’m very grateful that there are no complaints about the operations performed”, noted Oleksandr Hrytsenko. 
In turn, NIBULON’s head of environmental protection department Alla Izmiestieva added that was not the last time the company had carried out measures in Prybuzhany and Hurivka to reproduce water bioresources. At present we continue dredging. Thus, we will stock the Southern Buh River with fish in spring.
NIBULON’s specialists are convinced that careful attitude to the environment can make business successful and efficient. Thus, the company will keep on implementing its own ecological standard. NIBULON completes operations to revive navigability of the Southern Buh River, performs preparatory works to construct transshipment terminals in Bilenke village (Zaporizhzhia region) and Hola Prystan town (Kherson region). The company plans to dredge the limiting areas in the Dnipro and the Dniprodzerzhynsk reservoirs.
