Recently, several hundred Mykolayiv citizens have participated in an open day and had an opportunity to observe the vessel’s launching. Little time remains before putting into operation of the tug!
There is one of the last photo reports about status of NIBULON-5 construction testifying how Ukrainian agrarian company, for the first time since Ukraine’s independence, constructs its own fleet independently.
Thus, at present the vessel’s readiness has reached 96 %, and NIBULON’s shipbuilders are preparing for the last stage of construction – sea trials and further delivery of the vessel.
Besides, the shipbuilding progress is the following.
1. Mooring trials of systems and gears are being finished on the tug moored to the building berth. In particular, there has been finished production of Volvo diesel-generators; the heating system produced by Alfa Laval is being adjusted; Mitsubishi main engines are being prepared for start and testing.
2. Assembly and pipeline area: connection of equipment of sanitary systems is being performed in the living accommodations; anchor and mooring complex has been approved; towing winch and winding of towing rope are being prepared for starting.
3. ISD specialists have completed wall and overhead panel plating in the vessel’s living sector. Soon, they will start to lay linoleum and install furniture.
4. Area of mechanical-fitter’s parts: ventilation and conditioning systems are being tested; assembly of ceilings in the engine room is in the homestretch.
5. Electrical area: the navigator console is being adjusted in the pilot house; installation and connection of lamps will be finished in the living sector soon.
6. Specialists of the painting area are performing final painting of the tug’s spaces approved earlier.
Construction of the vessels is performed according to the following stages: metal cutting – subassembly and fabrication – manufacture of hull systems – hull formation – test of spaces – assembly of deck equipment – assembly of electrical and radionavigation equipment – mounting of insulation and metal plating, plating of spaces – equipping of superstructure and living spaces – deck painting – mooring trials – sea trials.
