The following week of construction of NIBULON’s tugs of POSS-115 project has marked the beginning of a new stage of works. At present the specialists have started to clean and paint NIBULON-5 outer shell plating at the shipbuilding and repair yard “NIBULON”. Thus, soon the tug will be painted completely!
At the same time the specialists of the paint shop have already started to clean and paint the vessel’s double bottom compartments. The spaces are being approved and tested for tightness, and they are being prepared for painting.
The total readiness of the vessel comprises almost 38 %. The main stages of work are the following:
1. The workers of the assembly-welding area are preparing the vessel’s superstructure for approval. Production of assemblies is being finished, and aluminum deckhouse is being assembled.
2. The specialists of the mechanical-fitter areas are producing equipment in the vessel’s spaces and finishing installation of foundations for fender protection.
3. Assembly of pipelines in the bottom tanks is being completed. After the pipelines are tested, the pipes will be produced and mounted in the vessel’s spaces.
4. Foundations of rudder-propellers are undergoing mechanical treatment, in the engine room there has been completed installation of foundations for gears.
5. Installation of electrical-fitter equipment is in the final stage; testing of ballast tanks is being finished in the unit No.40.
6. Decks are being prepared for painting and concrete pouring.
As about NIBULON-6, the tug’s readiness is 18 %. At present the vessel’s hull is being formed.
In particular, formation of the unit No.20 is being completed. On the other unit No.10 there is being continued installation of outer shell plating. Manufacture of flanges and foundations for the second vessel is being continued.
