After the vessel is placed at the shipyard pier, NIBULON-5 will be outfitted, including installation of electronic equipment, gears, etc. Launching will testify that construction works of the shipbuilding order are in the homestretch.
By August 1 outfitting works will have been completed, and the tug will join NIBULON’s “fleet family” and continue the employment of the DniproRiver (together with other NIBULON’s vessels). By the end of 2014 NIBULON-5 will have transported more than 70 thousand tons of agricultural products along the DniproRiver!
Construction progress of the fifth and sixth tugs is the following.
NIBULON-5(total readiness is 53,5 %):
1. Assembly and pipeline area: previous alignment of main engines has been completed; leveling gaskets are being produced, and after that the engines will be fastened. Crane is also being mounted; anchor and mooring single windlasses are being prepared for installation. There is being carried out assembly of pipes of the firefighting, ballast, drainage and fuel systems on the vessel. Besides, equipment is being mounted in the vessel’s spaces (rudder-propeller system, water treatment space, engine room).
2. Painting area: there have been started cleaning and priming of the outer part of the vessel’s superstructure, bulwarks; spaces of rudder-propeller system and living accommodations are being prepared for insulation and plating.
3. Specialists are manufacturing guard railing and finishing to produce removable plates, sloping ladders and hatches to enter the vessel’s spaces. Guide elements of shaft of the navigation room are being installed to lift and lower the latter.
4. Assembly and welding area: welding of the navigation room and mast is being completed; equipment is being installed in the navigation room. There are being continued final works on cleanout of spaces and their preparation for priming and painting. As to the navigation room, at present its bottom steel and upper aluminum parts have been formed. After painting they will be assembled in one unit. Besides, on the vessel there has been installed a towing hawse-arch; pre-insulation works are being carried out actively. Living accommodations are being prepared for pouring of deck coat, insulation installation and panel plating.
5. Specialists of the electric installation area have started cabling in the tug’s engine room; main and emergency switchboards have been installed on the vessel.
NIBULON-6 (total readiness is 28,1 %):
1. On berth there have been installed two fore parts of the unit No.10; assembly and preparation for welding are being continued.
2. The unit No.50 is being formed; the unit No.60 has been formed; welding works have been started.
