During the forum its participants described their experience in implementing projects started at last year’s forums. Thus, NIBULON’s Deputy General Director of Marine Safety Andriy Volik introduced the project of the transshipment terminals construction in the region (Genichesk and Novovorontsovka districts).
“Kherson region is a unique land which is attractive for investment. In summer 2011 there was signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Head of Kherson Regional State Administration. In less than a year the first terminal of the company started its operation in Kozats’ke town. That year via the terminal there were transported about 120 thousand tons of products that allowed to reduce traffic in Kherson region considerably. At present there has already been signed an agreement for land lease in Genichesk town for the period up to 49 years; thus, everything is ready for construction of NIBULON’s new terminal”, he added.
NIBULON’s General Director Oleksiy Vadaturskyy appreciated the forum idea, “Kherson region is an example of attractive investment climate. If every region of Ukraine followed the example of Kherson region, our country would get prosperity and leading positions in the world”.
To support these words, Mykola Kostyak presented Oleksiy Vadaturskyy with an order as to allocation of leased land in Genichesk town to construct the transshipment terminal there. He also guaranteed further assistance of the regional authorities in implementation of the company’s investment project.
Oleksiy Vadaturskyy mentioned that alongside with construction of the company’s transshipment terminal in Genichesk town NIBULON would develop sea transportation and Ukraine’s sea infrastructure – directions that are new for the company. Besides, it will contribute to revival of navigation along the Caspian Sea, the Don and the Volga Rivers, and other rivers having created a chain among Ukraine, Russia, Belarus with direct entry to Kazakhstan, Iran and other countries. Construction of own vessels at the shipbuilding and repair yard “NIBULON” purchased by the company will also contribute to it. At present renovation of this lost element of logistics network is extremely important for Ukraine, its neighbours and strategic partners.
Besides, due to implementation of NIBULON’s project, agricultural producers of the region will get additional profit due to reduction of expenses for logistics compound. In several years above 100 thousand trucks will be removed from Kherson highways. It will reduce traffic considerably and ensure significant economic effect, as cargo carriage by water transport is one of the cheapest nowadays.
