This confirms once again the effectiveness of our company’s strategy which involves the construction of modern transshipment terminals on the rivers directly in the area of agricultural producers’ activities. In view of the constantly rising tariffs of Ukrzaliznytsia and worndown roads, it is more efficient to deliver grain to our branches. This significantly reduces farmers’ transportation costs. Another advantage is that NIBULON’s branches receive crops all year round. Agricultural producers do not have to worry about whether their products will be accepted.
NIBULON’s transshipment terminal in Mykolaiv traditionally demonstrated the best result, having procured 1.259 million tons of products. The record results have been achieved by “Voznesens’ka” branch in Mykolaiv region (287.7 thousand tons and it is a 24 % increase as compared with the similar period of 2017/18 MY), “Khortytsia” branch in Zaporizhzhia region (284 thousand tons – a 39 % increase as compared with the similar period of 2017/18 MY), and “Kozats’ka” branch in Kherson region (265 thousand tons). It should be mentioned that the above-mentioned transshipment terminals have been maintaining leadership in agricultural products receipts for a long time.
At present, the total grain storage capacity is 2 million tons. In almost 8 months of the marketing year, NIBULON’s branches made almost 2 turnovers, having procured 4.223 million tons of agricultural products.
The company manages to achieve such results due to a complex approach to the development of infrastructure (a network of transshipment terminals, fleet, etc.) and a unique logistics system, which is redirected to water as much as possible. The company transports almost all its cargoes by inland waterways. And the small percentage of road and rail transportation is the transportation of products from warehouses built in close proximity to agricultural production zones to the transshipment terminals located on the rivers.
We will continue developing the infrastructure and transportation by rivers. In particular, this year we will put into operation two transshipment terminals in Zaporizhzhia region (Ternivka village) and Dnipropetrovsk region (Marianske village). We continue constructing the company’s fleet which will enable us to take decisions on grain transportation quickly. And this will become a prerequisite for increasing the volume of its purchase. At present, NIBULON is a leader of Ukraine’s grain market and it is going to maintain its leadership in the grain market in the future.
