Over the past few years, the visibility and role of women in business have increased significantly. There is no doubt that gender balance, respect for women’s rights, and considering their opinions when making important decisions directly affect the development of society and the economy.
The issue of gender balance and equal opportunities for all company employees is also in the focus of NIBULON’s attention. Last week, the topic of women’s role in society and organizations was addressed for the first time. On March 1, employees of Kyiv and Mykolaiv offices were given a lecture on “Women’s Leadership” by Yana Romanenko, HRD at NIBULON, and a practical masterclass by invited psychotherapist Iryna Horbatiuk.
During the lecture, Yana discussed the following questions with the participants:
- Is there a difference between male and female leadership?
- What does it mean to be a successful woman?
- What gender stereotypes are faced not only by women, but also by men? How do they affect personal life, work, and career?
- What prevents women from building a career and achieving their goals?
- Which professional and personal qualities should be emphasized to succeed?
- How does gender equality affect the overall development of the company?
«Історично склалось, що більшість керівних посад обіймають чоловіки. Проте сьогодні змінюється світ. Змінюється й Україна. Ми бачимо, як поступово зростає кількість жінок на керівних посадах. З’являється все більше жіночих асоціацій, проводяться заходи, організовані жінками для жінок, які мають на меті показати їхні неймовірні досягнення та надихнути інших жінок на звершення.
Змінюється й «НІБУЛОН». Враховуючи реалії та виклики часу, трансформується наша корпоративна культура. Ми розуміємо, яку важливу роль сьогодні відграють жінки у суспільстві, економіці, нашій компанії. Розумні, сильні, амбітні, цілеспрямовані. Ми будемо й надалі приділяти увагу наставництву та розвитку їхніх hard і soft навичок.
Проте хочу зауважити: пам’ятайте, що більшість бар’єрів існує лише у нашій голові. І поки ми не позбудемось негативних установок та стереотипів, нав’язаних суспільством, жоден наставник, суспільство чи компанія не зможуть допомогти. Тому вірте у свої сили, вчіться новому, не бійтесь відстоювати власну точку зору, проявляйте ініціативу – і ми в «НІБУЛОНі» завжди вас підтримаємо», – підкреслила Яна Романенко.
Iryna Horbatiuk emphasized that to achieve goals, be motivated, and oriented towards success, it is important to pay attention to your health – both physical and psychological. During the art masterclass, the guest told women how to use creative tasks to restore resources and live the complex events of today, to be able to pursue all the achievements encouraged by the modern mindset and lifestyle. Iryna also showed simple yet effective exercises to reduce the level of anxiety and tension in the body, which all Ukrainians, without exception, experience today.
The date of March 1 to discuss the topic of women’s leadership was chosen for a reason. Since ancient times, it was women who had the leading role in celebrating the arrival of spring and rituals associated with well-being and the future good harvest. It is from this date that we begin a series of educational events for the company’s female employees, which will aim to develop leadership qualities, promote their development and self-realization at NIBULON.
