After pre-sowing tillage – cultivation and application of fertilizers – on an area of about 31 thousand ha, the first branches in Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr and Poltava regions started sowing late spring crops. In particular, corn has been sown on an area of 1.5 thousand ha out of a planned 17.8 thousand ha, sunflower has been sown on an area of 5.5 thousand ha out of a planned 21.3 thousand ha. Even though the sowing campaign has only recently started, we already have leaders. Kamianets-Podilska branch (Khmelnytskyi region) has already sown 100 % of sunflower. Prybuzhanivska branch (Mykolaiv region) has completed 100% of work on sowing corn in the region. The company will start sowing sorghum and soybeans a little later. This season it is planned to sow them on areas of 1.8 thousand ha and 1.9 thousand ha respectively. NIBULON plans to complete the sowing campaign as soon as possible. “As regards spring crops yield forecasts, everything depends on the spring rain. A critically low amount of moisture accumulated in the soil during winter. The current precipitation can influence the formation of the crop as never before”, said Kostiantyn Khmelnytskyi, Deputy General Director of Agricultural Production. At the end of last week, all production branches also completed the second dressing of winter crops. The specialists are applying plant protection means to protect plants and soil. According to the results of the survey of NIBULON’s agrarians, almost all crops wintered successfully. The crop forms 33.9 thousand ha of winter crops, including 29.1 thousand ha of wheat, 1.6 thousand ha of winter barley, and 3.2 thousand ha of rapeseed. Machinery is an extremely important factor in agricultural production. That is why NIBULON modernizes its agricultural machinery fleet. It purchases new modern units from the world’s leading manufacturers. Recently, the company has purchased 6 KINZE 3600 Ag Leader and Gaspardo MTR-8 planters, 6 Amazone ZA-V 3200 and Kverneland TL-3900 fertilizer spreaders, 2 Massey Ferguson TH-7035 telehandlers, plus a CASE Patriot 3330 self-propelled sprayer worth USD 1.22 million. In addition, during the preparation and field works, the service center specialists at the company’s production branches perform high-quality repair and maintenance of equipment, thereby ensuring its maximum efficiency. In recent years, the company has purchased 140 new units of agricultural machinery totaling more than USD 10 million. To date, NIBULON’s agricultural machinery fleet consists of about 2,300 units. NIBULON continues working in its usual way, while observing all measures to exclude the transmission of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) between the company’s employees.
