Own cargo fleet built by NIBULON within its investment project proves NIBULON’s position as one of the domestic leaders in fleet tonnage increase and transportation volume growth on inland waterways.
The company’s fleet numbers 28 non-self-propelled vessels, 7 modern tugs, a Watermaster Classic IV dredger made in Finland. In July 2013 Ukraine’s most efficient transshipment floating crane St. Mykolai joined the company’s fleet family.
Since the beginning of own fleet creation NIBULON has successfully started shipping operations on inland waterways. In particular, in 2011 navigation season there were transported (including for export) about 800 thousand tons of cargos, and in 2012 navigation season the company transported and shipped for export 1 million 300 thousand tons.
Since April 2013 (the beginning of the current navigation season) there have been performed 200 hauls along the Dnipro and the Southern Bug Rivers, and the amount of transported products is almost 1.8 million tons (including for export).
Export shipments are also carried out by using St. Mykolai that operates in the outer roads of Mykolayiv Commercial Sea Port and loads powerful PANAMAX vessels full at present. Since the beginning of its operation (August 2013) the floating crane has loaded almost 400 thousand tons of cargos.
At present all NIBULON’s vessels perform cargo transportation in normal mode. When the ice campaign is announced, the vessels continue to operate as their technical characteristics include ice class allowing to operate in small ice pieces.
On completion of implementation of NIBULON’s investment project to revive the Dnipro and the Southern Bug Rivers as navigable waterways of Ukraine, the annual water transportation amount will be 3 million tons.
Thus, annual increase of production indices including transportation volumes on inland waterways proves not only considerable success in the investment project implementation, but also NIBULON’s investment efficiency.
