The beginning of this week, as well as the beginning of the previous one, was quite fruitful for NIBULON in terms of important meetings of international level. On February 7, ING delegation headed by Managing Director, Head of Food & Agri Europe Pieternel Boogaard and representatives from ING offices in the Netherlands and Kyiv visited NIBULON’s facilities in Mykolaiv.
General Director Oleksiy Vadaturskyy accompanied by Chairman of the Supervisory Board Claudio Scarrozza and Head of the Financial Department Olha Babanina familiarized the honoured guests with NIBULON’s transshipment terminal and NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard, which is one of the few shipyards in Ukraine constructing complete vessels.
The representatives of the bank, which is NIBULON’s long-standing business partner, familiarized themselves not only with the basic principles of its operation, but also with the construction progress of the new elevator complex with a capacity of about 43 thousand tons and the reconstruction of the cargo berth; upon the reconstruction completion, the length of the waterside at the transshipment terminal will be almost 800 m.
The guests talked with the builders. They noted that they had been cooperating with the company for a long time, and thanks to NIBULON´s standard – to construct their high-tech facilities qualitatively and just in 100 days – they had a great experience.
“How talented you should be in order to organize so many people at the construction site”, expressed her admiration for Oleksiy Vadaturskyy Managing Director, Head of Food & Agri Europe of ING Pieternel Boogaard.
The guests noted the high level labour organization, technological equipment and the number of orders of NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard, where in 2017 two new modern workshops were put into operation: a metal processing workshop and assembly and fabrication workshop equipped with state-of-the-art equipment from the world’s leading manufacturers. Recently, additional lifting and launching tracks have been constructed there; they will enable the shipyard to construct and maintain vessels of 100 m, and in the near future vessels of 140 meters.
“NIBULON is a shining example for other companies in Ukraine because they invest in the country and in the company. This investment is not just limited to grain exports, but also to shipbuilding, using local people and their knowledge  and expertise. So, it is really impressive what Mr. Vadaturskyy, but also the company, is doing. Clearly, people like to work for him because I see everybody working very hard doing his or her best. It seems to me that he beats targets all the time. Everything that he does is done in record time”, said Pieternel Boogaard at the end of the meeting.
After visiting the production facilities, constructive negotiations on further cooperation between ING and NIBULON took place at the company’s headquarters.  The bank representatives offered additional interesting directions for expanding the long-term cooperation.
“ING has been financing NIBULON for a long-long-long-long time. And we are very happy that we are able to help NIBULON to do what they are doing today. We are a small piece of the puzzle. Really, really small. But I’m glad to say that we now see the fruit of our cooperation. I am really proud”, said Pieternel Boogaard.
