In order to establish economic cooperation relations of Kherson region companies with partners of the countries of Baltic and Black Sea Basin, on June 14 in Lazurne town (Skadovsk district of Kherson region) there was held Baltic-Black Sea Economic Forum.
The forum means new opportunities for business and is directed to organization of as many financial and business contacts among participants as possible. The event became a basis for international business cooperation and an opportunity to establish a number of business contacts among its participants. Its main goal was to present economic and investment opportunities of the region, to organize cooperation to create innovation and investment logistic clusters.
Among the participants there were Head of Kherson Regional State Administration Mykola Kostyak, Head of Kherson Regional Council Viktor Pelyh, Consul-General of Georgia in Odesa Teimuraz Nishnianidze, First Secretary of Consulate-General of the Slovak Republic in Uzhgorod Oleksandr Shkurla, Honorary Consul of Lithuania in Ukraine Viktor Popov, First Deputy Director of the National Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of Ukraine Yaroslav Zhalilo, Consul of the Russian Federation in Odesa city Andriy Aksionov, and also managers of companies, organizations, institutions from different regions of Ukraine and abroad. At the forum NIBULON was introduced by Deputy General Director of Construction Sergiy Besedin.
Opening the forum Mykola Kostyak noted that cooperation of the region with Baltic States lasted more than a century, and Viktor Pelyh said that economic potential of Kherson region was strengthening as investors were constantly interested in the region.
Within the forum the participants took part in the following meetings by sections:
1) “Energy saving: alternative technologies”; 2) “Wellness industry – cluster approach. Recreation and travel business – world standards”; 3) “Innovations in the agro-industrial complex. Prospects of industry development, creation of industrial parks. Staffing”; 4) “Development of logistic networks”; 5) “Financial instruments to implement development projects”.
Addressing to the participants of the third section Sergiy Besedin familiarized them with a pace of implementation of the investment program to revive navigation along the Dnipro and the Southern Bug Rivers. He noted that the company had already constructed 22 high-tech elevator complexes and its own tug and non-self-propelled fleet, construction of St.Mykolai floating crane was being completed and the shipbuilding and repair yard “NIBULON” would be modernized. The participants were interested in other activities of the company, including the fact that NIBULON is one of the largest Ukrainian agricultural producers, exporters, investors, and leases above 81 thousand ha of land.
While familiarizing the participants with the conditions of NIBULON’s project implementation, Sergiy Besedin stressed that investment conditions created for the company by the local authorities of Kherson region were one of best among other regions of Ukraine.
At present NIBULON’s transshipment terminal of “Kozats’ka” branch successfully operates in the region. The company is going to construct the terminal in Genichesk town.
Support of NIBULON’s initiatives by Kherson authorities was testified by signing of an appropriate Memorandum on cooperation, and also during the company’s participation in the international investment forums of Kherson region and during a number of meetings of Oleksiy Vadaturskyy with Mykola Kostyak.

They created all conditions to minimize bureaucratic obstacles and to implement NIBULON’s investment program as quickly as possible. They demonstrate their interest in revival of the Dnipro River transport capacity”, adds Sergiy Besedin.
