Serhiy Kalkutin, NIBULON’s General Director of Logistics, organized an excursion as part of the “Business analysis” course under the “Analysis of logistics capabilities of companies” component. Walking across the transshipment terminal, the students learned of the company’s main activities and the handling processes of grain received by the facility. The students observed the unloading of the non-self-propelled vessel which delivered cargo from Voznesenska branch (Mykolaiv region), and the loading of the foreign-going vessel. These provided the best examples of automated processes and operational efficiency. “At present it is important for students to observe a practical component for the implementation of production processes. NIBULON is an example of how to combine efficient logistics with an economic strategy. I think that young people must see and realize the capacities of the production sector and its results”, says Olga Vyshenska, an economic analysis teacher from the Mykolaiv National Agrarian University. Maryna Vasylenko, a student, noted the visit’s practical value, “The company’s successful experience enables us to considerably expand our knowledge of logistics and export activities, efficient teamwork, and the efficient development of the agrarian company.”The guests had an opportunity to visit NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard where they inspected metal sheet processing departments which produce parts, sections, and a complete vessel. “The working process is well-organized at the facilities. After only one hour of the visit, we have already received two instructions. Mykolaiv has all the prerequisites and prospects to develop shipbuilding. The state must be interested in reviving shipbuilding and supporting such an investor as NIBULON”, shared Natalia Zhovta, a fourth-year student. The guests were impressed by the excursion. They also went on board NIBULON MAX, NIBULON’s 140-m self-propelled floating crane. The captain welcomed the guests in the wheelhouse and answered all their questions.
