Egypt is a special and very important direction in NIBULON’s export activity. This country is one of the largest world corn importers. Corn takes up a considerable share in NIBULON’s export structure. NIBULON was the first to open Egypt’s grain market for Ukrainian corn. These partnership positions are strengthening today. In the first half of 2014/15 MY alone, NIBULON, a leader in grain crop export from Ukraine, shipped to Egypt 23 % of the total grain exported during this period.
Such fruitful cooperation resulted in NIBULON’s participation in Middle East Grain Congress held on March 3-4 in Sharm El Sheikh. Above 130 grain market specialists from 25 countries of Middle East, North Africa and Europe took part in the event. Ukraine was represented by NIBULON’s specialists.
During the conference, the participants discussed a lot of issues concerning world grain trade in 2014/15 MY, situation in the grain markets of the Black Sea countries, grain imports to the countries of Middle East and North Africa, flour-grinding industry of these countries. The port infrastructure in Ukraine and Egypt was in the spotlight.
NIBULON’s specialists had a number of important negotiations with potential partners at the Congress – final consumers of Ukrainian wheat. They negotiated with the following Egyptian companies: Om El Nour Group, Al Monairy Group, As-Sonbolah, Savola Foods Egypt. Heads and general directors of these companies participated in the negotiations.
NIBULON’s representatives also met with their traditional partners, such as Bunge, Cargill, Medsoft, Oils&Grains Co.Ltd, VA Intertrading, Invino, AOS Trading DMCC, Midtrade and others. They discussed the possibilities to sign new contracts and agreed details on contracts signed earlier.
The grain forum’s outcome is to confirm the importance of such business meetings and the necessity to develop fruitful cooperation for the benefit of all participants in the grain market.
