NIBULON is a multifaceted company. It is engaged in producing agricultural products and exports, constructing elevator complexes and transshipment terminals, shipbuilding, developing navigation and logistics in particular.
Since 2012, NIBULON has been implementing a policy for reducing logistics expenses for the delivery of grain products from agricultural producers or storage facilities to ports in the cheapest way. In order to improve logistics, the company constructs fully automated elevator complexes that are as close to agricultural producers as possible, its modern cargo fleet to transport grain by inland waterways, dredges rivers, thereby implementing the principle of the optimal ratio of the cost and terms of grain products delivery.
The cargo and passenger fleet of NIBULON’s shipping company numbers 67 vessels. Twenty-one vessels must be permanently fueled. In view of the increase in fleet units and redirection of its cargoes to water and, consequently, growth of the volume of diesel fuel to be purchased to meet the needs of the company for oil products, in 2015, NIBULON signed a contract for the supply of diesel fuel from the plant located in the Republic of Lithuania and is owned by PNK ORLEN.
It was the first step towards reducing the prime cost of own products, providing high-quality fuel and avoiding the adverse effects caused by fluctuations in the currency market. Since then NIBULON has been importing and delivering fuel to the end users (branches, tug fleet, truck fleet) on its own. These actions are aimed at providing fuel for all types of the company’s transport and avoiding downtime due to late delivery.
Taking into account the constantly growing need of the company for oil products, there is a need to arrange additional capacities to store them. NIBULON’s management decided to build three filling stations in 2018 in the territory of “Kremenchuts’ka” branch (Poltava region), “Svativs’ka” branch (Luhansk region), as well as in Khmilnyk town (Vinnytsia region), where NIBULON has its production branch, to meet its own needs. The location is not accidental; it’s based on the logistics and specifics of the company’s activities. It will ensure the need of the regions for oil products and reduce transportation costs. By reducing the distance of fuel delivery, NIBULON will free vehicles that can provide other services.
The reduction in the cost of fuel transportation will increase the competitive advantages of NIBULON in the region and will reduce the prime cost of delivery and growing of products.
The filling stations are designed based on a progressive centralized way of supplying oil products with the preservation of quality and quantity. There will be introduced new techniques and technologies; there will be used automatic equipment, control and maintenance technological operations and automation of labor-intensive processes to improve the reliability and cost-effectiveness of operation, to reduce the fire danger of filling stations when reducing labor effort.
In order to avoid harmful emissions, the company will install modern environmentally friendly equipment, tanks fitted with pressure vacuum relief valves, which in turn are fitted with flame arresters, at its filling stations. In order to prevent the oil products from getting into soil, surface water and groundwater, there will be hard surface at the industrial sites. It doesn’t create sparks. The surface water will be treated with the help of treatment facilities.
At the filling stations, special loading and unloading devices made of materials that exclude sparking during impact will be used. All design solutions will meet the requirements of the “Fire Safety Rules in Ukraine”.
Thus, construction of the filling stations is a reliable and effective way to meet the need of the company for high-quality fuel, to optimize cargo transportation both by water and road transport, to cut down the logistics expenses and impact on the environment.
