Due to the redirection of logistical chains in wartime conditions, NIBULON is compelled to use combined routes, including the transportation of grain by trucks. The transportation of agricultural products from southern branches, including the river terminals of Voznesenska and Novoodeska branches, as well as the terminal in Mykolaiv, currently serving as a dry port, towards Bessarabska branch is primarily carried out by road transport. However, the company ensures to minimize the load on roads and its impact on the environment. From all water elevators along the Dnipro, blocked due to the explosion of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant, products received from farmers are transported by road to elevators with available unloading capacities for rail transport, significantly reducing truck traffic within the country. Additionally, to decrease the weight of the road train and increase payload, 30 out of 64 semi-trailers are entirely aluminum, including the frame. All trucks are equipped with 13-liter fuel-efficient engines with a power of 450 hp, 2350 Nm torque, and Scania Opticruise automatic gear-changing system. For safe driving, an advanced emergency braking system (AEB) is installed, along with LED headlights and fog lights. Seven units that will be transporting fuel are equipped with ADR FL specifications. According to Director of Logistics, Serhii Kalkutin, due to a diversified transportation system encompassing road, rail, and water transport, NIBULON has managed to establish new supply chains, reduced logistics costs, and consequently increased purchase prices for farmers. “This year the logistics department has ambitious plans. We intend to completely renew the whole truck fleet of our freight transport vehicles service. Specifically, trucks from our partner Scania Ukraine will serve as an efficient enhancement to our activities,” says Serhii Kalkutin. When signing the agreement, CEO of Scania Ukraine Ltd. Håkan Jyde emphasized the company’s pride in the partnership with NIBULON. “We are glad to be involved in the implementation of an important goal – ensuring the export of products in the interests of Ukraine’s economy and global food security,” stated Håkan Jyde. On our part, we support the exporter’s work and provide financial instruments to reduce the business burden. The entire contract is financed through leasing from Scania Credit Ukraine and insured with comprehensive coverage (KASKO). All trucks are also connected to the Scania Fleet Management System (FMS). Currently, we offer NIBULON extensive service and training opportunities through Scania Ukraine Ltd., as improving transport operation indicators is in our mutual interest.” We are sincerely grateful to our reliable partner Scania Ukraine and Scania Credit Ukraine for the long-term cooperation and support in implementing the project to renew the truck fleet.
