The nominees of the award were chosen among the bank’s clients from all countries where the financial institution is represented.
The EBRD has been honouring its best clients for outstanding achievements in the field of climate change and sustainable energy management, as well as promoting environmental and social efficiency with awards. This year, gold, silver and bronze awards were presented in four categories: sustainable energy, climate resilience, environmental and social best practice, and environmental and social innovation. It should be noted that the number of this year’s applications was record-breaking – 55; they were considered and evaluated by competent independent judges.
As part of the investment project of the Dnipro River and the Southern Buh River revival as navigable transport arteries of Ukraine, NIBULON creates its own logistics system in order to reduce its dependence on external factors and risks level in economic activity. The expansion of its own logistics system provided NIBULON with such competitive advantages as convenience, flexibility, maneuverability, efficiency and quality of cargo delivery. NIBULON already transports 2.3 million tons of grain per year along Ukrainian rivers. And in the coming years the volume of transportation by water will increase to 4 million tons.
In the coming years, NIBULON’s logistics will be almost completely redirected to water transport. To this end, NIBULON is reconstructing its shipbuilding and repair yard. Upon the reconstruction completion, it will be the most modern shipyard in Ukraine and without a doubt one of the best shipyards in Europe. NIBULON also increases the company’s fleet by constructing more and more complex vessels.
We would note that this is not the first time NIBULON received a prestigious award from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. In 2011, the EBRD recognized NIBULON as the winner of Ukrainian Energy Efficiency Program (UKEEP). On the whole, NIBULON has been successfully cooperating with one of the world’s leading financial institutions since 2010.
