At present NIBULON is a successful example of environmentally responsible business in Ukraine. The environmental component in construction of NIBULON’s river terminals and elevators complexes, besides advantages in terms of logistics and production arrangement, influences on the environment positively.
The company allocates considerable financial resources for the environment preservation. For example, the environmental payments to the budgets of different levels comprise more than UAH 107 mln in 2009-2013.
One of the ways to implement NIBULON’s environmental standards is compensation measure (including planting) where NIBULON’s elevators and terminals are constructed. For example, in 2009-2013 the company planted above 16 thousand units of greenery to the total amount of almost UAH 543.6 thousand, including above 14 thousand trees (UAH 506 thousand) that were planted as compensation measure to renovate greenery in the territory of local communities in Poltava, Zaporizhzhya, Kherson and Mykolayiv regions.
For three years NIBULON has been taking care of planting stock; consequently, the State Organization “Mykolayiv Forestry” received UAH 354 thousand in 2009-2013.
We would remind you that in April 2013 by order of Mykolayiv District State Administration of Mykolayiv region the company planted 12 188 pieces of greenery in the territory of Shostakove village council. According to the specialists of the environmental protection department, the goal of planting was to compensate losses to the environment of the district. In particular, in future the young park will be a protective belt protecting the settlement and fields from storms and become a recreation area for the inhabitants.
The survival rate of planting stock is 3 276 pieces for the first year since planting. Carrying out its obligations as to taking care of greenery during the first three years, in October 2013 NIBULON has renovated the quantity according to the planned volumes. There were planted 8 912 pieces of two-year-old seedlings of black walnut (to the total amount of UAH 112 thousand). NIBULON’s specialists and SE “Mykolayiv Forestry” carried out planting together.
Despite the park was transferred to the district state administration, NIBULON continues to carry out its obligations as to taking care of the park during three years since its creation.
