At the beginning of July, upon successful completion of mooring and sea trials, NIBULON put into operation three tugs (121 project): Kremenchutskyi, Kozatskyi and Pereiaslavskyi which were officially laid down in August 2014 under the chairmanship of the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
Having been put into operation, the tugs started to operate along the Southern Bug and later – along the Dnipro River, the important water artery in Ukraine.
On July 2, Kozatskyi non-self-propelled vessel left NIBULON’s main sea terminal and was bound for the outer roads of Mykolayiv Sea Port. In order to complete the loading of ABGARA motor vessel, the pusher tug towed NBL-008 non-self-propelled vessel loaded with barley.
During July and at the beginning of August, the tug completed five cargo trips in order to complete the loading of PANAMAX QUEEN and Jin Qi vessels. The tug transported more than 11.5 thousand tons of grain.
The second Kremenchutskyi tug constructed at NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard started to operate on July 19. It helped Kozatskyi tug to complete the loading of Jin Qi motor vessel, having towed non-self-propelled vessel with barley from the transshipment terminal of “Kozats’ka” branch (Kherson region).
This tug (121 project) has already transported more than 28.6 thousand tons of corn, almost 4 thousand tons of barley, 5.5 tons of rapeseed, and more than 1.5 thousand tons of wheat to complete the loading of five motor vessels in the roads.
The POSS-115 project tug and Kremenchutskyi tug have already completed two common cargo trips, towing each time four (!) non-self-propelled vessels with the total displacement of almost 20 thousand tons per cargo trip. The tug also completed a cargo trip, towing two barges at the same time.
Please note that a cargo trip tonnage with four barges (up to 20 thousand tons) almost equals the capacity of Handymax large-tonnage sea vessel.
Pereiaslavskyi tug (121 project) is also operating successfully.
On July 25, the vessel left Mykolayiv transshipment terminal and was bound for the outer roads of Mykolayiv Sea Port. It has already completed six cargo trips, towing seven non-self-propelled vessels. It transported 8.2 thousand tons of Ukrainian wheat and more than 2.2 thousand tons of barley which were used to complete the loading of two motor vessels (BEST ADVENTURE, SHOU CHEN SHAN).
It should be noted that St. Mykolai self-propelled floating crane keeps operating in the outer roads together with new tugs (121project). Since the beginning of operation, the crane has already completed the loading of almost 2.2. million tons of Ukrainian agricultural commodities in the holds of motor vessels.
The company’s own cargo fleet consisting of 28 non-self-propelled vessels and 9 modern tugs transported almost 1.5 million tons of grain and oilseeds (including for export) in the 2014/15 marketing year alone.
NIBULON aims to revive navigation and cargo transportation not only along the Dnipro and the Southern Bug but also along the Desna River as well as other rivers in Ukraine.
