This year, we have harvested yield from an area of more than 30.5 thousand ha which is almost 6% more than in 2016. The gross yield of early grain and industrial crops comprises 120.8 thousand tons which is almost the same as it was last year.
In particular, the gross yield of wheat comprises almost 108 thousand tons. This is 4,570 tons more than last year. According to results of the 2017 harvesting campaign, the average crop capacity of wheat comprises almost 42 dt/ha; it is the same as last year’s result. “Pryseimivs’ka” branch (Sumy region) and “Kamianets’-Podil’s’ka” branch (Khmelnytskyi region) have demonstrated the highest yield results – 52.9 dt/ha and 52.6 dt/ha respectively. By the way, “Kamianets’-Podil’s’ka” branch has demonstrated the maximal gross yield of wheat – 14.7 thousand tons.
The total gross yield of winter rapeseed comprises more than 4 thousand tons and the average crop yield is 23.8 dt/ha. RE “Lidiievs’ke” (Mykolaiv region) has demonstrated the highest crop yield of winter rapeseed – 35.5 dt/ha.
The average crop yield of winter and spring barley is almost the same – 35.3 dt/ha; it has surpassed last year’s result. NIBULON’s production branches have harvested 5,400 tons of winter barley and 3,800 tons of spring barley.
According to Kostiantyn Khmelnytskyi, NIBULON’s deputy general director of agricultural production, given the fact that the company’s branches are located in different climatic zones, the performance indicators are closely correlated with the local weather conditions. Despite this year’s severe drought in central Ukraine, Poltava region, Cherkasy region, and partially in Zhytomyr region, despite decrease in crop yield of early grain crops up to 10% across the country, as compared to last year, NIBULON has managed to maintain quantitative results at the level of 2016.
In addition, it should be noted that this year there are no quarantine weeds and commodities damaged by a corn-bug; it is result of effective work of the company’s specialists in this direction. That is, the harvest is of high quality.
62 units of the harvester machinery have been involved in this harvesting campaign. Despite larger sown areas, as compared to last year, we have managed to transport yield from the fields in a shorter period of time. In addition, due to high level of labour organization and management of its own truck fleet, as well as its technical availability, NIBULON not only has avoided hiring of extraneous vehicles but also significantly increased the volume of services in crop transportation to third-party organizations.
The production branches are carrying out preparatory works for the autumn cycle of field works. In particular, NIBULON’s branches have already been provided with mineral fertilizers; the specialists purchase stock seeds, high-quality seed disinfectants, etc. Preparation for harvesting of sunflower in the southern branches of Mykolaiv region is in full swing. The crop yield of this crop is expected to be higher than average results for many years.
