A special training on labour protection when working at height (in an unsupported environment) by using climbing equipment is conducted once per year in compliance with the “Rules of labour protection when working at height”. A fitter of equipment for silos and industrial grain processing facilities, an equipment sector engineer and a ship’s painter have undergone this year’s training.An instructor from the Professional Safety Educational and Training Center Ltd, Pavlo Levchuk certified by IRATA (the Industrial Rope Access Trade Association), has helped the company’s employees to consolidate their knowledge.Several issues on labour protection covering special equipment and safety measures during climbing works and work at height, industrial climbing, main techniques to conduct the above-mentioned works, self-help, actions to be taken during emergencies and others were discussed during the course. All the theoretical aspects were practiced during practical activities on the facilities at NIBULON’s transshipment terminal in Mykolaiv. Having completed the training course, the company’s specialists successfully passed the exams in order to receive a permit to conduct these works, confirmed by the respective protocol during the meeting of the committee on labour protection issues at the Occupational Safety Educational and Production Center Ltd.
