The production meetings at the construction site are held every week in order to solve urgent issues, to control the operations of contracting organizations and period of their performance. Due to this, all NIBULON’s transshipment terminals are built to a good quality and in a record period of time – in 100 days. As always, at the beginning of the meeting Serhii Besedin stressed the necessity of adhering to all rules of technical and fire safety, rules of labour protection, because human security at the construction site comes first.
Among the results achieved last week, it is worth mentioning that the foundations for a headhouse have been concreted. Construction Company Ltd. (Dnipro) will be mounting the metalware. In addition, specialists from Ukrdobrobud Ltd. have finished sheet piling and have started preparing the berth for concreting.
The walls of the first floor of the terminal’s administrative and laboratory building and cafeteria are built quite quickly. The contractors have also started constructing buildings of mechanical workshops and a weighing station. The contractors are already performing finishing works in a transformer substation.
Each week the amount of work increases at the site and consequently the number of contracting organizations and builders grows. About 1,500 builders from 70 contracting organizations from almost all regions of Ukraine will be involved in constructing the facility. In addition, about 40 units of machinery, including piling machines, heavy-duty crawler cranes and truck cranes, dump trucks, etc., are involved in constructing the high-tech terminal.
The first batches of equipment will begin to arrive at the construction site next week. In particular, a side tipping platform should be delivered first. The newly built terminal will have the following technical characteristics: capacity – 76 thousand tons, daily capacity of dryers – 3.6 thousand tons, daily capacity to load on water transport – 12 thousand tons. Total shipment capacity – 300 thousand tons per year.
The transshipment terminal, which will provide jobs for about 120 local people, reduce the costs of agricultural producers of the region for the transportation of product, as well as will pay more than UAH 5 million of taxes to the local budget annually, is constructed with the financial support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank.
