At the same time, the distribution of crops has been changed. In the 2024 season, NIBULON is increasing the areas for sowing corn and soybeans, while reducing the areas for planting sunflower. This is associated with price expectations for grain batches this year and forecasting a better economic result. In total, we have purchased 3,000 sowing units of sunflower and 22,000 sowing units of corn; it is planned to purchase 40 tons of soybeans, and 500 tons of soybean seeds of our own production have been prepared for sowing.
Sowing, which began due to weather conditions earlier than planned, has started in four clusters covering Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, and Zhytomyr regions. Under favorable conditions, the company’s agrarians expect to complete the process by mid-May, sowing 2,000 ha per productive day.
Reflecting on the risks of yield reduction, NIBULON’s Director on Agricultural Production Oleg Veselov noted that they are currently absent. The company anticipates a gross harvest of spring crops at the following levels: corn – 200,000 tons, soybeans – 15,000 tons, sunflower – 25,000 tons.
