Every new year is a new landmark in the biography of NIBULON that stays on a path of intensive development and constantly implements its plans from the very beginning of its existence. 2014 has become generous with important events. A lot of plans, projects, and things at the initial stage of implementation have been implemented by a five-thousand team of the company.
NIBULON lives in the rhythm of country life, feels its pulse and contributes to Ukraine’s social and economic development. Ukraine takes third place in grain export, and NIBULON has played a considerable role in it. According to last marketing year’s results, the company kept leadership position among Ukraine’s exporters. Intensive development of logistics and improvement of agricultural commodity transportation technology have become a good basis for such results.
Our agrarian company has gone beyond the scope of agricultural production having started the implementation of its large-scale project to revive shipbuilding and, actually, creation of new Ukrainian cargo fleet. One of NIBULON’s important tasks is to revive Ukraine’s rivers as transport waterways – creation of logistics infrastructure, construction of vessels at its own shipbuilding and repair yard, dredging of the Dnipro and the Southern BugRivers.
This current year has become particularly difficult and dramatic for Ukraine: temporary loss of Crimea and long-term combat operations in Donbas region cause mobilization of all resources, induce active and patriotic actions. Certainly, our patriotic company could not stand aside such events and supported the country not only by investing and developing leading sectors of Ukrainian economy but also by providing financial assistance to Ukrainian military men being in ATO area, including the battle-scared, members of their families and also displaced persons from ATO territory. We direct our financial resources to support more than hundreds of NIBULON’s employees who were mobilized to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and are protecting our country.
Patriotic, highly professional, socially-oriented activity of our team was highly appreciated. This year the shipbuilding and repair yard “NIBULON” has been visited by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko twice. He has headed the ceremony of NIBULON-6 launching and keel-laying of three tugs of 121 project. And Holy Patriarch of Kyiv and All Rus’-Ukraine Filaret has consecrated the newly-built NIBULON-6 within his visit to Mykolayiv region.
During his visit President of Ukraine stressed, “Now NIBULON is a symbol of Ukraine, a symbol of revival of Ukraine, Ukrainian agriculture, Ukrainian engineering, shipbuilding… NIBULON is the only agrarian company that deals with the reviving of shipbuilding and navigation in Ukraine. Powerful industrial companies and revival of production facilities are a serious help to strengthen Ukraine’s positions in the international arena”.
And Holy Patriarch Filaret said, “This symbolic event is of great importance for our independent Ukraine. It symbolizes revival of the country, and you are participants of domestic industry revival.”
For 23 years of its development NIBULON has moved in one direction; every year has brought new achievements and new records.
1. Results of 2014 in agricultural production have become one of the highest in the company’s history. Harvesting campaign has demonstrated excellent figures: totally, NIBULON’s branches received more than 330 thousand tons of grain that can be compared with the most successful 2013. Main crops demonstrated significant results. There were harvested 96.2 thousand tons of winter wheat, and gross yield of corn became a record one – 162 thousand tons. High results were demonstrated in cultivation of sunflower, sorghum and soybean. Such high figures were achieved thanks to the high level of agricultural machinery and production arrangement, as sown areas were not increased.
2. This year NIBULON has become an absolute leader among exporters of Ukraine’s agricultural commodities having delivered 4.537 million tons of grain to foreign markets in 2013/14 MY and left behind transnational companies. NIBULON is a leader in deliveries of wheat (13,4%) and corn (11,7%). NIBULON takes second place in barley export and third place in rapeseed export.
The company continued to conduct active policy as to its presence in the world grain market due to the high grain quality and logistics improvement where river transportation plays more and more important role.
3. At the shipbuilding and repair yard “NIBULON” there have been held events to be called the beginning of a new epoch in the company’s life. The first vessels NIBULON-5 and NIBULON-6 of POSS-115 project have been put into operation, and the first three tugs of 121 project have been keel-laid.
St. Mykolai self-propelled floating crane has transshipped one million tons of cargoes for the first time. For the first time in its working biography, St. Mykolai has loaded Panamax vessel (The Guide) full in the roads without previous Panamax loading at the terminal.
4. The company continues to support livestock sector at the branches efficiently. In the near future it is planned to open a shop in Mykolayiv city to sell products of meat-processing workshop of “Bystryts’ka” branch.
5. Creation of working places is an important result of NIBULON’s development. Recently new working places have been created in Mykolayiv city. 111 persons received deserved work. This was achieved due to the development of the shipbuilding and repair yard, construction of own vessels, increase of capacities, expansion of technical possibilities of the transshipment terminal (there have been installed three vessel loading units, four conveyors, two norias, additional aspiration systems).
The company’s plans indicate positive perspective of new working places next year. In particular, it is connected with construction of storages to store 70 thousand tons of grain at the central transshipment terminal in Mykolayiv city and also construction of the transshipment terminal in Bilenke village of Zaporizhzhya region and continuation of the shipbuilding program implementation.
6. The company strictly follows the principles of socially-responsible business, traditionally implements different humanitarian programs. NIBULON finances educational, social and infrastructure projects in the regions where its branches are located. In particular, for 11 months of the current year the company has allocated more than UAH 17 million for support of social and other projects.
…Every landmark symbolizes continuation, development of previous achievements. The record pace, for example, was set at the beginning of 2014/15 marketing year; in July NIBULON achieved the highest volumes of export deliveries for the month – 620 thousand tons. In Bilenke village of Zaporizhzhya region within the implementation of the program to revive the DniproRiver as transport artery there has been started construction of the modern transshipment terminal. There is being continued preparation for construction of new storage facilities at the central transshipment terminal in Mykolayiv city. As the economy develops, the company’s facilities will be increased as well as social and humanitarian programs.
