Should we wait for love or give it ourselves? For NIBULON employees, the choice is clear. For several years in a row, our colleagues have been supporting animal shelters on the eve of Valentine’s Day. This is our way of showing that love can be expressed in many ways. Everyone deserves it, especially our furry friends who cannot take care of themselves.

This week, we visited the “Mylyi Dim Chapa” shelter in Mykolaiv. This is an inclusive shelter for cats and dogs, dedicated to saving pets in distress, even those that private clinics have deemed untreatable.

NIBULON’s team shares a deeply touching history with this shelter. Nataliia Reva, a metrologist at NIBULON’s Transshipment Terminal, has been supporting it along with her colleagues for some time. A few months ago, a dog named Bim, who lived near the terminal, was hit by a car. At the time, veterinarians gave a grim prognosis: they said he would never walk again and even suggested euthanasia to end his suffering. However, Nataliia and her colleagues refused to give up on Bim. They found the “Mylyi Dim Chapa” shelter, and today, against all odds, Bim is standing up and taking his first steps!

Deeply moved by this story, the NIBULON employees decided to dedicate this year’s charity fundraise specifically to this shelter. Under the initiative “From NIBULON with Love,” we delivered food and professional care products: simple yet essential supplies needed every day. You can see the warm welcome we received for yourselves!

Currently, the shelter is home to nearly 200 animals, small lives saved by volunteers. Incredibly, they are cared for by just one dedicated family.
