NIBULON continues to restore the agricultural potential of war-affected regions by implementing advanced technologies that enhance safety and operational efficiency.
Recently, NIBULON’s demining department conducted a non-technical survey of 70 hectares of farmland owned by the “Kedr” farming enterprise in the Shevchenkivska amalgamated territorial community (hromada) in the Mykolaiv region. The operation received support from Safe Pro Group Inc., which provided technological assistance.
As part of NIBULON’s initiative, a suite of modern solutions was utilized, including drone-based aerial imaging and artificial intelligence to analyze panoramic photography. To thoroughly assess just one hectare of land, approximately 1,000 aerial images need to be processed. For this project, NIBULON employed Spotlight AI technology: within 5 hours, three drones captured about 70,000 images, which were then analyzed over the following 12 hours.
The results revealed: 32 confirmed unexploded ordnance (UXO), 43 suspected UXO, and 30 UXO indicators. In total, 105 potentially hazardous objects were identified on the surveyed land.
By using a remote examination format, NIBULON significantly reduces risks for personnel and accelerates the preparation process for the next phase: demining, for which documentation is already underway.
This project is another example of how NIBULON combines technology, responsibility, and strategic vision to support the sustainable recovery of Ukrainian farmland. We thank Safe Pro Group Inc. for their partnership, which allows us to achieve more, faster, and safer.
Recently, we shared information about the non-technical survey of 2,200 hectares of state-owned land and our first Sustainability Report prepared in line with the GRI standards.
