The main task is to move produced sections of up to 42 tons and servicing the building berth.
In December 2017, NIBULON held a tender for purchase of a portal crane, in which participated both Ukrainian and European manufacturers of cranes. The German firm Liebherr-MCCTEC Rostock GmbH won the tender, which was held at a high level: openly, transparently and with due observance of all requirements and regulations. The companies’ representatives are signing a contract for the purchase of a high-capacity portal slewing crane LPS180 with a capacity of up to 42 tons.
The LPS180 crane has the following technical characteristics: jib length – 35 m, min. radius – 9 m, hoisting/lowering max – 90 m/min., slewing max – 1.60 rpm, luffing max. – 83 m/min.
The driver’s cab has sound and heat insulation, wipers, an air conditioner, an external speaker with amplifier, a microphone and a loud speaker, a wind speed indication unit, a load limiting and weighing system, a video surveillance system, and a telephone.
It is planned to deliver the crane in October 2018. The crane will be disassembled and it will be delivered by about 20 trucks. It is planned to put it into operation by the end of November. It will become an integral part between the new assembly and fabrication workshop and the building berth.
At present, NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard has 32 cranes: 4 portal cranes (2*10 tons, 2*32 tons), 4 overhead cranes (2*20 tons, 1*10 tons, 1*5 tons), 3 gantry cranes (1*32 tons, 2*5 tons), 4 radio controlled overhead cranes (3*10 tons, 1*20 tons), 15 beam cranes of up to 3 tons, a wheel-mounted crane of 25 tons, and a crane with magnet beam.  
We would remind you that the specialists finish constructing two launching ways at NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard that will enable shipbuilders to construct and maintain 100-m vessels and longer ones within the permissible technical norms. However, NIBULON plans to construct five more rails enabling shipbuilders to construct and launch 140-m vessel and longer ones within the permissible technical norms.
