NIBULON has been successfully developing Ukraine’s modern logistics system, redirecting cargo transportation from road to river and railway for more than 10 years. Therefore, the company manages to minimize volumes of grain received from trucks, thereby saving Ukrainian roads and improving the environment in different regions of the country. NIBULON’s cargo vessels and hopper car fleet operate efficiently. At present the company transports 60% of cargoes by water (about 4 million tons per year), 30 % by railway, and only 10% by trucks. It is only the beginning, as the company continues developing Ukraine’s economy, building new high-capacity transshipment terminals, and a modern fleet. NIBULON continues increasing its own hopper car fleet. Thus, it purchased the TGM 4 locomotive last year. The locomotive had conducted only cargo maneuvers on the territory of NIBULON’s marine transshipment terminal in Mykolaiv until now. Having received a permit from Ukrzaliznytsia, NIBULON’s locomotive will transport hopper cars from the Mykolaiv-Vantazhnyi railway station to the company’s transshipment terminal, thereby optimizing its own work and saving money. “Specialists from Ukrzaliznytsia locomotive service inspected the locomotive’s technical condition. The locomotive and warehouse staff have been successfully tested on knowledge about rail traffic safety documents as well as the operating and maintenance rules of the Ukrainian railways. As a result, the locomotive as well as locomotive and warehouse staff meet the requirements to use the public railways of the Mykolaiv-Vantazhnyi railway station”, tells Yuriy Nanakin, a head at NIBULON’s railway transport department. Zaporizhzhia Locomotive Repair Plant Ltd renovated the locomotive and brought its technical condition to the required operating and maintenance rules of the Ukrainian railways. It should be mentioned that in 2019, the company built and put into operation a hopper car maintenance point to inspect, repair, and wash locomotives. We would remind you that NIBULON bought 108 hopper cars (19-6869 model) to transport grain. The hopper cars were produced by KARPATY Experimental Mechanical Plant with a weight-carrying capacity of 70.5 tons and cubic capacity of 120 cubic meters. At present NIBULON has already transported more than 225,000 tons of grain by its own hopper cars from its branches to its transshipment terminal in Mykolaiv.
