“NIBULON”, one of the largest Ukrainian exporters of grain, supplied Ukrainian corn to Japan successfully at the end of May 2012. After signing a contract with one of the largest Japanese companies for supply of Ukrainian corn, on March 27, 2012 at the berth of “NIBULON’s” transshipment terminal there was started the shipment of the vessel “DN MILLET”. On April 5, 2012, 50 400 tons of Ukrainian corn were shipped on the above-mentioned vessel. According to the certificate, issued by the surveyor company in the port of shipping, broken kernels together with mixture (BCFM) amounted to 3.61% according to USDA method with contract maximum of 4% that confirms high quality of the exported grain. The vessel’s unloading was performed in two Japanese ports: from May 10 to 14, 2012 in Tamakomai port (Hokkaido Island) and from May 18 to 19, 2012 in Kashima port (Ibaraki Island). During the specified period unloading of the cargo was inspected by the independent surveyor company a report of which confirmed again that all qualitative indices of Ukrainian corn, shipped on the vessel “DN MILLET”, are within contract specification. As a mark of respect, on June 20, 2012 “NIBULON” received a letter of gratitude from the Japanese partners. An extract from the letter: “Dear Nibulon Team, We would like to inform you that cargo of Ukrainian corn supplied by Nibulon arrived to Japan safely and was unloaded without detecting any major issues: no residue of gas after fumigation, in sound conditions, quality within contractual specification. We would like to thank you for a smooth and professional execution of the first contract between our companies. Our company looks forward to continuing mutually beneficial business relations with Nibulon in the upcoming 2012/13 grain season”. It should be noted that “NIBULON” supplied corn to Japan for the first time (earlier the company exported barley and wheat to this country). It is pleasant to know that delivery of corn was successful. Ukraine has heavy stocks of corn and an opening of new commodity markets is a prior task for the economics of our country. The fact that Japan left positive opinion about Ukrainian product is a good sign for our Ukrainian exporters, producers and the agricultural sector on the whole.
