At the beginning of March, Nibulonivets floating crane and a Terex Fuchs MHL 385 D transshipment grab mobile crane started to complete the loading of high-capacity seagoing vessels and also to enlarge batches of non-self-propelled vessels in order to load them to the full shipload. At the same time, they perform auxiliary operations, for example, cargo planning (stowing).
MV STOVE CALEDONIA vessel (Panamax type) under the Norwegian flag was the first one loaded by Nibulonivets.
On March 13, 2016, the crane loaded from non-self-propelled vessels into the holds the last tons of Ukrainian corn out of more than 9.6 thousand tons of the total amount loaded.
The net productivity of loading was up to 200 tons per hour that is about half of the capacity of one of Ukraine’s largest cranes – St. Mykolai self-propelled floating crane.
It should be noted that loading-unloading operations are performed in three stages:
1. Preparatory works: to moor the non-self-propelled floating crane and non-self-propelled vessel, to pull the non-self-propelled vessel along the crane’s side, to open holds aboard non-self-propelled vessel, to roll hatch-covers, to load/unload a truck tipper aboard, and to bunker.
2. Vessel loading.
3. Final works: to close the non-self-propelled vessel’s hatch-covers, to unmoor the floating crane and non-self-propelled vessel, and to clean decks.
