“2014 was complicated for the country and everyone”, said NIBULON’s General Director Oleksiy Vadaturskyy at the beginning of the meeting. “But despite difficulties, we did everything in order to develop our company, to protect our employees from difficulties”.
“NIBULON continues to demonstrate stability and development”, he added. “Our international financial institutions have already noted this. Thus, we will have received a loan of USD 25 million from the EBRD by the New Year. The loan facility will be provided to finance working capital needs and to support the activities in the territory of Ukraine”.
The General Director stressed the level of confidence in NIBULON was testified by the following fact. For the first time in NIBULON’s history, the U.S. Ministry of Finance together with the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and Iran Government permitted us (the only one in Ukraine) to directly export corn and other grain seeds to Iran despite an embargo for this country. At the beginning of 2015, Panamax vessel with Ukrainian grain will come to the Eastern country.
During the meeting, the results of grain storages operation last MY and in the first half of this MY were summarized.
According to Galyna Lyuta, a deputy head of economic analysis and planning department, every marketing year is unique with its natural and climatic, economic and other conditions. This year that is characterized by early harvesting of early grain crops and warm weather has not become an exception. These factors changed the procurement process at the company’s elevators and terminals. Totally, during the first five months of 2014-15 MY, power consumption of the main production operations has been considerably reduced. “Kamyanka-Dniprovs’ka” (Zaporizhzhya region) and “Kozats’ka” branches (Kherson region) showed the highest increase in procurement in comparison with the same period of last MY. “Teteriv” branch (Zhytomyr region) demonstrated the lowest reduction of drying volumes. 57 days is the best figure of the average turnover duration of storage capacities achieved by “Artemivs’ka” branch (Poltava region).
Galyna Lyuta stressed the company followed social liabilities to its employees when planning activities. In particular, the final working time record that is influenced labour organization positively and working time record has been successfully used at the branches for more than two years. Please note that NIBULON pays an average wage to its mobilized employees.
The head of sales department Volodymyr Slavinskyy added that efficient operation of NIBULON’s branches had enabled the company to finish last MY with an export figure of more than 4.5 million tons, having ensured absolute leadership in export of grain and oilseeds in Ukraine several years running. And the intermediate results of the current season forecast that this MY will be as successful as the previous one.
Yuriy Grynyshak, a head of accounting and reporting department, noted a high level of agricultural commodity storage, addressing himself to the directors of the elevators and terminals.
The company’s specialists also mentioned topical energy saving issues. “An efficient plan to save energy and to decrease power consumption is being developed. It will be included in the general plan of the company’s development in order to increase the efficiency of material and labour resources, to increase storage volumes and to render services to the third-party organizations”, said Yevgen Didyk, a head of economic analysis and planning department.
