The complex investment project will include several areas.
Firstly, it will include the construction of a port complex in Ochakiv (Mykolaiv region). It is expected that the newly built terminal will be a base for the company’s fleet.
Secondly, it will include the revival of fishing industry. Each year, the fishing industry in Ukraine is significantly reduced, and most of the total volume of fish products is imported. NIBULON aims to revive fishing industry, as well as the processing and canning of fish, crustaceans and molluscs in the Dnipro-Buh Estuary. In view of this, NIBULON is also considering the possibility of building a specialized fleet at its own shipbuilding yard for the needs of the industry.
The company’s investment project will be an important impetus for the development of the region’s economy due to new jobs, money to the local budget and the industry development. The information about the terms of the project will be announced later.
The construction of a new transshipment terminal will not go contrary to other investment plans of the company in other regions of Ukraine. NIBULON will continue to invest in Ukraine’s economy and increase its investments. In particular, it is about the construction of two transshipment terminals in Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions in 2019, as well as about the plans to construct a port in Oleksandrivka village (Bilozerka district, Kherson region).
The construction of a network of transshipment terminals is an important part of the company’s investment project which aims to redirect almost all cargoes to the Dnipro River and to transport 4 million tons of commodities per year by water. This will significantly reduce traffic load on the roads. To this end, the company constructs modern cargo fleet at its own NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard. By the end of 2019, NIBULON’s fleet will have consisted of 80 vessels.
