“NIBULON” is a driver of the domestic agrarian market. For its 21-year history the company received a perfect credit history and enjoys confidence of the first-class European banks, foreign financial institutions, and partners.
An important component of the company’s development was a patriotic investment project to revive the Dnipro and the Southern Bug rivers as transport waterways of Ukraine. The company implements its project not thanks to but contrary to – shoulder-to-shoulder with financial partners, without any support from the state.
One of the main partners of “NIBULON”, starting from 2012, is the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the EBRD). In the first year of cooperation the Ukrainian company received a loan for the amount of USD 50 mln from the international finance institution. Due to these costs there was purchased the elevator equipment for the facilities which were built within the investment project. In 2012 the cooperation between “NIBULON” and the EBRD is planed to be expanded, as in July the EBRD Board of Directors approved to allocate up to USD 130 million syndicated loan facility to the company. The facility will be used for financing of working capital needs associated with trading operations.
On September 24 – 28 Ukraine was visited by the official delegation of the EBRD Board of Directors.
Among them were:
– Peter Basch (Alternate Director for the EU);
– Giorgio Leccesi (Director for Italy);
– Andras Karman (Director for Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Croatia, Georgia);
– Joachim Steffens (Deputy Director for Germany);
– Stefka Slavova (Deputy Director for Bulgaria, Poland, Albania);
–Werner Gruber (Director for Switzerland, Ukraine, Lichtenstein, Turkmenistan, Serbia, Montenegro, Moldova);
– Andre Kuusvek (the EBRD Director for Ukraine);
– Artem Shevalov (Deputy Director for Switzerland, Ukraine, Lichtenstein, Turkey, Serbia, Montenegro, Moldova);
– Anton Usov (the EBRD Senior Adviser);
– Franklin Steves (the EBRD Political Adviser).
The delegation visited Kharkiv, Poltava regions and Kyiv city, met with the clients of the Bank and discussed macroeconomic development of Ukraine.
On September 26, 2012 the EBRD delegation visited the elevator complex of “Globyns’ka” branch of “NIBULON” (Poltava region). It was not their first visit to “NIBULON”. In 2010 the members of the Board of Directors visited the transshipment terminal of “NIBULON” in Mykolayiv city. For “NIBULON’s” management and its team such visits are very important and valuable as they signify trust and partnership relations.
That day General Director of “NIBULON”, Hero of Ukraine Oleksiy Vadaturskyy gave the guests a hospitable welcome.
At the beginning of the meeting the guests familiarized themselves with the construction history of “Globyns’ka” branch within the investment project and became familiar with the status of implementation of the latest one supported by the EBRD. “Due to the World Bank and the EBRD, in Ukraine such companies like ours develop. Without this support, probably, a lot of domestic companies would fold up. Thanks to your support and trust, we started cooperation with the governments and credit funds of Denmark, Holland, Sweden, the USA, and others”, mentioned Oleksiy Vadaturskyy.
While introducing the process of the company’s development, Oleksiy Vadaturskyy paid particular attention to the investment activity. He mentioned that starting from 2009-2010 marketing year (commencement of cooperation with the EBRD), the company’s investment activity increased in three times amounting to more than USD 255 mln at present.
The visitors became familiar with an export activity of the company and that is above 60 importers of agricultural products from Ukraine, including 19 ones in 2011-2012 marketing year and 3.5 mln tons of products shipped for export in that year.
The guests also observed the photo gallery of “NIBULON’s” enterprises constructed within the investment project of the company. “12 facilities (including “Globyns’ka” branch) out of 22 constructed ones were built due to the EBRD investment. Consequently, “NIBULON” is the only company in Ukraine which uses only its own elevator facilities with capacity of 1.7 mln tons. “NIBULON” is the only company that builds its own cargo and tug fleet, conducts dredging works on the Dnipro River ensuring its navigability. Next year we are going to bring an amount of annual water transportations from 800 thousand tons to 3 mln tons. Due to this vertical integration (from production to a final consumer), our company became the biggest domestic exporter. “NIBULON” is also a socially responsible company – we develop infrastructure of every settlement where we work. Therefore, by “NIBULON’s” example it is possible to create a model of Ukraine development as agrarian country. All these things strengthen the company’s authority both in Ukraine and abroad”, stressed Oleksiy Vadaturskyy.
During the meeting the members of the official delegation became familiar with the elevator complex (Poltava region) in detail. Oleksiy Vadaturskyy conducted a tour himself. During the excursion the EBRD members became familiar with productive facilities of the elevator, observed manufacturing equipment, namely transport equipment “CIMBRIA UNIGRAIN A/S (Denmark), grain-cleaning machine “SCHMIDT-SEEGER AG (Germany), dryers “MATHEWS COMPANY” (the USA), aspiration equipment “SIMATEK A/S” (Denmark), grain storage facilities “SYMAGА” (Spain). The guests also visited the laboratory where they could watch the process of grain sampling and its further laboratory analysis (from samples taking to analysis of quality indices). In general, the guests noted complete computerization of all production processes and high technological level of the elevator complex.
The most pleasant moment for the EBRD representatives was a degustation of “NIBULON’s” own sausage products.
The guests were proposed 100% natural sausage products produced at the meat-processing workshop of “Bystryts’ka” branch (Zhytomyr region) under “Bystryts’ki kovbasy” trade mark according to the state quality standards. Oleksiy Vadaturskyy mentioned that the high quality of sausage products allowed to show themselves to good advantage and at present they are in demand in many regions of Ukraine where the company’s branches work.
On completion of the meeting Director for the European Union Peter Basch addressed to Oleksiy Vadaturskyy,
“In the name of all members of the EBRD Board of Directors I would like to thank for your hospitality. Entering the elevator complex we realized that it is a high-technology elevator complex which is characterized by its high level of efficiency. And we see that your company has a huge potential. Are there any circumstances that restrict your potential development? I think that somebody in Ukraine (for example, the government) should make every effort or otherwise not to do something so that the companies like yours (being the pride of Ukraine) work without obstacles”.
