On June 3 Oleksiy Vadaturskyy with participation of NIBULON’s specialists had a working visit to SNC shipyard. During his visit NIBULON’s General Director became familiar with the process of St.Mykolai floating crane construction and negotiated with SNC President Gheorghe Bosinceanu and its Managing Director Radu Rusen.
During the meeting there were discussed topical issues as to completion of the vessel’s construction; the parties confirmed the final production schedule as to work performance including date of its completion, and also schedule of precommissioning. There was determined delivery term and procedure to the customer.
The Romanian party assured that the shipyard had taken every measure to ensure the vessel’s delivery by June 30. Thus, at the beginning of July St.Mykolai floating crane will be in Ukraine and start operating!
At present construction work is being continued. For the last week the shipbuilders have performed the following scope of work:
1) Labeling of anchor chains.
2) Completion of an inclined ladder assembly.
3) The vessel’s spaces are being inspected for compliance; the hull compartments are being tested for impermeability.
4) Fuel tanks are being tested for impermeability.
5) Main propulsion motors are being mounted and fastened.
Driving (here as propulsion) motor is a motor with torque transfer to the propulsion device of a vessel, i.e. propeller.
6) Compartments of double side were painted. There is being continued painting of buoyancy compartments of interbottom space and spaces for insulation.
Interbottom space is a space between inner bottom and outer skin of a vessel.
7) Insulation is being mounted in spaces.
8) The shipyard introduced oily bilge water systems, fuel system, fresh water cooling system. Other hull systems are being prepared for delivery.
The vessel’s construction is in progress according to the following stages: metal cutting – manufacture of pipes and hull systems – subassembly and fabrication – hull formation – testing of spaces – deck equipment assembly – installation of electric and navigation equipment – equipping of systems – assembly of insulation and metal plating – outfit of the vessel’s superstructure and accommodations – deck painting – mooring trials – sea trials – delivery to the customer.
