All construction works go according to plan. And immediately after the terminal’s weighing station, in which works have been completed, the rest of the terminal’s auxiliary facilities, in particular administrative and laboratory building, transformer substation, fire station and mechanical workshops, will be commissioned. After that, the landscaping will be started.
At the same time with the plating of the terminal’s headhouse and truck tipper the specialists are installing technological equipment there. Its pre-commissioning and testing will start from May 15. The foundations under big and small silos, as well as the ones under dryers, are being actively concreted.
During the production meeting with the heads of about 70 contracting organizations involved in constructing the high-tech terminal, NIBULON’s General Director called it the company’s most complicated construction object,
“This is the most complicated construction site in terms of geology. There is a very large amount of excavation work. In one place we lower the site to 10 m, and in another place we raise it to the same height. Here was a slope of about 30 degrees; we level it to make the site horizontal, because such an object can be built only on a horizontal surface”.
However, there are no impossible tasks for the company. Thus, the contractors brought 200 thousand cubic meters of soil and removed about 500 thousand cubic meters for the vertical planning of the territory of the high-capacity industrial facility in Ternivka. All technological objects of the transshipment terminal are strengthened by ferroconcrete piles. There are about 3,500 piles to be driven.
Oleksiy Vadaturskyy also said that upon spawning completion, the company would dredge about 2 km of the left tributary of the Dnipro River (the Ploska Osokorivka River) to ensure the water approach to the transshipment terminal’s cargo berth. In addition, more than 12 km of the water approach (from the berth’s operational water area to the main shipping route of the Dnipro River) will be equipped with navigation equipment to ensure navigation safety.
The transshipment terminal in Ternivka, which will be receiving grain of a new harvest from July, will significantly reduce the costs of agrarians in both Zaporiizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions, as well as will remove more than 12,500 trucks from the roads.
“This terminal will beautify two regions – Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions. The agrarians of the entire region will see the economic effect of the terminal, since this is a southern point of Dnipropetrovsk region and the north of Zaporizhzhia region. And trucks will no longer move through Zaporizhzhia, through a dam of the hydroelectric power station; they will not move to Kamianka-Dniprovska and Bilenke. Last year, farmers transported 84,000 tons of grain from this district to our terminal in Bilenke. Therefore, we know that this grain will stop here, plus we will expand the geography of suppliers and load the enterprise without problems”, said Oleksiy Vadaturskyy.
The products received from local agricultural producers are delivered to the destination by NIBULON’s fleet, which already consists of 73 vessels. In the near future, NIBULON plans to transport 60 % of its cargoes by water transport, which will significantly save money on road repairs.
As for the benefits for the local population, it should be noted that in addition to about 120 new jobs and more than UAH 5 million of taxes paid annually, NIBULON will also implement a number of social projects (including repair of roads, a school, a house of culture, etc.).
“We have committed ourselves to arranging and repairing 2 highways, repairing the school’s roof, repairing the house of culture, the sports complex, and arranging the village center. Our specialists will also live here. And it is important to us to solve all the issues in the social sphere”, said NIBULON’s General Director.
The company’s management is convinced that it is possible to make young people stay in villages and on the country if normal living conditions are created for them. Therefore, NIBULON intends to provide its employees with a house, which will be built at the company’s expense, and even cars.
We have already built houses at other facilities, when they were put into operation and after putting into operation. And here we will build a house for our specialists simultaneously with the construction of the terminal. We will do everything, because young people will work here. And a young person needs a car so that he/she could go to Zaporizhzhia, a garage for the car, a normal house. So that children could go to school and kindergarten. Otherwise we will not make young people stay here. It is difficult to live in Zaporizhzhia. And here you can live in nature. If you need to go to a supermarket, you get into a car, go and buy what you need. Or go to the theater. People will be satisfied. All questions will be solved”, said Oleksiy Vadaturskyy.
