In a difficult period of military aggression for the whole Ukraine, Kherson region faces special challenges. Due to the professional and patriotic elite, the region overcomes them with courage and dignity. That is what NIBULON’s General Director Oleksiy Vadaturskyy drew attention of the audience to at the beginning of his speech,
“I am very happy today to be among friends because for me Kherson region is a native land, and a part of my soul belongs to it forever. I want to thank the Kherson elite and authorities of the region for their courage, adherence to principles through which Ukraine is now able to develop itself and defend its independence. I am very pleased that our company is also involved in this process, because we are doing our best to make Kherson region and Ukraine progress. If such conscious and patriotic elite were in the eastern regions and in the Crimea, we wouldn’t have those problems and challenges that exist today. I am convinced that it is precisely during such challenges, under the condition of social unity, it is possible to fully unlock the potential of people, entrepreneurship, business, investment. During the time when Ukraine was practically in a state of war, we have built the modern Ukrainian fleet which consists of 71 vessels and thus have employed 400 specialists of maritime industry. And 20 % of these young sailors are graduates of Kherson State Maritime Academy. 1,600 sailors who don’t want to go abroad, but want to live in their native country with their families and work on the most modern fleet of our company are next in turn to get a job at our shipping company”.
The chairman of Kherson Regional State Administration Andrii Hordieiev emphasized that since the beginning of military aggression, when foreigners were even afraid to come to Kherson region, Oleksiy Vadaturskyy had been the first to invest in the region with the help of international financial institutions and what was more important – in the infrastructure of the left bank, having built its transshipment terminal in Hola Prystan.
NIBULON continues implementing its investment program in Kherson region. There are already two transshipment terminals of the company in Kozatske village and Hola Prystan town. Next year NIBULON plans to increase the capacities of its transshipment terminal of “Holoprystans’ka” branch by 20,000 tons, as well as to increase the capacities of this branch to receive rice,
“This September Andrii Hordieiev addressed himself to me with a request to help Kherson rice producers to dry, clean and prepare rice. We willingly responded to the request of the chairman of Kherson Regional State Administration and very quickly got acquainted with the technology necessary for rice drying and cleaning, equipped the laboratory with the necessary equipment and certified it for determining rice quality. This situation inspired me to do my best to ensure more active development of rice production in Kherson region. And we plan to implement this plan next year”, said Oleksiy Vadaturskyy.
In the next two years, NIBULON plans to redirect almost all its cargoes to the Dnipro River and to transport 4 million tons of commodities per year by water. This will significantly reduce traffic load on the roads. And according to the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, one million tons of cargo transported by water transport save about UAH 800 million on pavement repair. To this end, the best cargo fleet in Ukraine is being built at the company’s own shipbuilding yard in Mykolaiv.
“We will do everything to prevent road transport from travelling through your towns and villages. Today I’ve talked to head of Beryslav District State Administration and Andrii Hordieiev and have asked them for support in solving all the necessary issues to prevent trucks from entering Kozatske village where the company’s terminal operates; as a result trucks will not cause discomfort to the inhabitants of the village. I am convinced that we will resolve this issue in the near future”, said NIBULON’s General Director.
Using Kherson region as an example, Oleksiy Vadaturskyy demonstrated how one successful company can fundamentally change and improve the logistics of the whole region, turning it into a direct benefit to the agricultural producer both in reducing transport costs for the supply of agricultural products and in reducing the needs for freight transport. To date, NIBULON has managed to get to producers of agricultural products as close as possible,
“We open a window to the world for export activities to each agricultural producer so that each agrarian could be engaged in foreign economic activity and thus could contribute to the increase in the volume of revenues from foreign currency earnings to our country, which contributes to the stability of the national currency and reduction of risks for domestic business”.
The construction of a port in the village of Oleksandrivka (Bilozerka district) is another project presented to the Council by NIBULON. Andrii Hordieiev, head of Kherson Regional State Administration, was one of the project’s initiators.
“This port is a great prospect for the development of the entire Kherson region. This is a complicated task and very large investments, but our company is capable of doing it in five years. So everything depends on you, the elite of Kherson region, on your decision, on the willingness to defend the interests of our native land in front of the higher echelons of authorities”, said Oleksiy Vadaturskyy.
NIBULON has ambitious plans for the development of Kherson region and Ukraine as a whole. And it will do its best to help the region and to create a prosperous Ukraine together with patriotic Kherson people.
