Shipbuilding is a long and technologically complicated process; thus, we are familiarizing you with its successes for the last week.
NIBULON-5 tug (readiness is almost 70 %).
1. Assembly and pipeline area: assembly of towing hook is being continued. Assembly of pipes of fire-fighting, ballast, drainage and fuel systems is being completed. The systems are being prepared for tests.
2. The company’s contractor, ISD company, has proceeded to insulation works and plating of the living accommodations.
3. Area of mechanical and fitter’s parts: the shipbuilders are installing the last parts of guard railing; production and mounting of pipes for ventilation and conditioning in the living accommodations are being continued.
4. The specialists continue cabling in the engine room, living accommodations and also installation of boards to control equipment.
Besides, on the tug there are being continued preparatory works to test systems, to start up gears and to begin mooring trials planned for July.
NIBULON-6 tug (readiness is more than 33 %).
1. Formation of the vessel’s hull is being finished; the fore unit No.50 is being mounted.
2. Forebody of the vessel’s superstructure (unit No.70) has been installed on the vessel, and it is being mounted.
3. Cleaning and priming of the tug’s hull have been started.
Construction of the vessels is performed according to the following stages: metal cutting -subassembly and fabrication – manufacture of hull systems – hull formation (NIBULON-6) -test of spaces – assembly of deck equipment – assembly of electrical and radionavigation equipment – mounting of insulation and metal plating, plating of spaces (NIBULON-5)– equipping of superstructure and living spaces – deck painting – mooring trials – sea trials.
