For many consecutive years, the company has been implementing its environmental standard which aims at popularizing an environmentally-friendly and responsible business. Consequently, NIBULON’s facilities meet all the required environmental safety standards. In order to restrict the production impact on the environment, the company implements a number of preventive measures and uses its own energy-saving and environmentally-friendly programs to preserve the environment. NIBULON allocates considerable financial resources to preserve the environment. In 2018, the company’s environmental costs comprised about UAH 24 million.Conducting regular measures to prevent the natural resources depletion is one of the ways to implement NIBULON’s environmental standard.The construction and operation of the company’s facilities influence the water life activity. Conducting dredging in order to maintain a navigable depth within the operational water areas and water accesses to NIBULON’s transshipment terminals, the company performs compensatory measures to the fishing industry. In spring 2019, NIBULON carried out the first stage of fish stocking in the Ploska Osokorivka River (the Dnipro’s tributaries), in the area of the Ternivska branch transshipment terminal (Ternivka village). At that time NIBULON constructed its third facility in Zaporizhzhia region. It stocked the river with more than 1.7 tons of bighead carp of about UAH 102 thousand.On November 11-12, 2019, NIBULON will stock the Dnipro River with 10 tons of fish worth about UAH 600 thousand. The fish stocking will be monitored by a special committee consisting of representatives from the Department of the State Agency of Fisheries in Zaporizhzhia region, the State Environmental Inspection in Zaporizhzhia region, and the local authorities, as well as with the community assistance.The company’s initiative to provide green spaces at the sites where NIBULON’s branches operate will improve the environment in the district. The company has purchased 862 young plants of ornamental and fruit trees as well as 116 rose bushes (worth UAH 167 thousand), which will be planted along the Ploska Osokorivka River bank, on reclaimed land, along the Ternivska branch bypass, at the facility’s site, and within its sanitary protection zone. The company has thoroughly chosen the type of trees to be planted along the river bank. In addition to improving the air quality, willows and birches will serve to fix the shores.   We would remind you that due to the implementation of its own investment program to revive navigation along the Dnipro and the Southern Buh during 2009-2019, the company implemented compensatory measures to the fishing industry of more than UAH 2.5 million. NIBULON stocked the Dnipro and the Southern Buh as well as the Kakhovka,Kaniv, Kremenchuk, and the Dnipro Reservoirs with almost 60 tons of fish, such as silver carp, grass carp, and carp. The company planted 28,862 trees and bushes worth more than UAH 1.3 million.
