On May 22-26, a delegation of the Egyptian government visited NIBULON within the Memorandum of Understanding to improve food safety of Egypt. The delegation consisted of Deputy Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Ashmawy, Assistant Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Wael Abas, Manager of the Main Department for River Transportation Mohsen Astus, and Major General of the elevator management and grain storage holding Sherif Bassily.
This meeting is a return visit to a working visit of NIBULON’s delegation headed by General Director Oleksiy Vadaturskyy to Egypt at the invitation of the country’s leadership (March 31 – April 6, 2018).
The main purpose of the visit of the Egyptian delegation is to see the company’s advanced technologies for production, transportation, storage, and shipment of grain for export. This is the third meeting with Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Ashmawy, Deputy Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, in order to prepare for a large-scale project of NIBULON Group to revive merchant navigation on the Nile, as well as to ensure food safety in the Arab Republic of Egypt within the framework of Memorandum signed in December 2017 with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
During their stay in Ukraine, representatives of the Egyptian government visited NIBULON’s transshipment terminal and its production and technological laboratory equipped with high-precision modern devices, as well as solemn opening of the international exhibitions held at NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard.
To explain in detail the way logistics works, completion of foreign going vessels loading is performed, we organized an excursion to the outer roads of Mykolaiv Sea Port. The Egyptian guests saw with their own eyes operations performed by St. Mykolai floating crane and Nibulonivets floating crane.
The delegation also inspected agricultural land of “Prybuzhanivs’ka” production branch, as well as transshipment terminals of “Voznesens’ka” branch (Mykolaiv region) and “Kozats’ka” branch (Kherson region). The delegation members were able to see a system for controlling product quality and to ensure high standards, which are introduced in all NIBULON’s laboratories and confirmed by international certificates of conformity.
“We are so impressed with high culture of work and high-tech logistics operations that we have felt in the middle of the whole country called NIBULON. The company’s approach to organize the entire supply chain from field to consumer is so comprehensive and effective”, said Sherif Bassily.
During negotiations with General Director Oleksiy Vadaturskyy, NIBULON presented its plans to implement the Ukrainian experience in the Arab Republic of Egypt in order the use the Nile as a large transport artery, which will help to remove thousands of trucks from the roads of megalopolises and reduce the logistics costs for end user. The Egyptian delegation welcomed the company’s plans. They expressed readiness to cooperate and support such initiatives at the level of ARE government.
