On June 18-19 the efficiently operating shipbuilding and repair yard “NIBULON” was visited by the third-year students of the specialty “Ships and ocean engineering” of Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding.
Deputy Director of preproduction of the shipbuilding and repair yard “NIBULON” Yuriy Karmalov told about its history and shipbuilding plans, the shipyard reconstruction. The youth observed the tugs of POSS-115 project demonstrating professional awareness of the construction stages and technical characteristics of the vessels.
According to Vasyl Zakhlypa, a student, until recently Mykolayiv fame as a shipbuilding region has been lost, and shipbuilding traditions have been almost forgotten. Such a situation lasted until NIBULON announced unassisted implementation of its own shipbuilding program. And since then the shipbuilding and repair yard “NIBULON” has become a key one for the shipbuilding sector in the region. Vasyl Zakhlypa stresses, “Today such an efficient shipyard is a significant event, a peculiar sign that Mykolayiv city is becoming shipbuilding again. It is very important for us to become familiar with the vessel construction process, technological peculiarities visually and not only by reading textbooks. I hope we will have practical training here!”
The Cameroonian student Dibend Yourk Patris was particularly interested in NIBULON’s fleet construction, “Having decided to devote my life to the shipbuilding, I came to Ukraine, where this sector received development. I have chosen Mykolayiv city because this city has a long and glorious shipbuilding history. I wanted to see the vessel construction process with my own eyes and to practice in it. It is great that NIBULON can provide me with such an opportunity”.
Building its own fleet independently, NIBULON proves in practice that the shipbuilding sector in Mykolayiv will never stop to exist. We hope that these students will be our colleagues soon. NIBULON is open for them!
