Chief engineer of NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard Ivan Tauzhnianskyi held the excursion for them. The acquaintance began with the shipyard’s new production workshops: assembly and fabrication workshop, metal processing area, metal cleaning and priming area with Rösler preservation line. According to the specialization of the students, the main topic of conversation was automatic control systems applied in order to make the shipyard’s production processes efficient.
The guests also saw the company’s fleet, in particular Mykolaivets vessel that specializes in dredging operations. It was interesting to them to familiarize themselves with metal processing, manufacturing of parts and sections of future vessels, to communicate with professionals, receiving professional answers to numerous questions.
The conversation between the visitors and the shipyard’s specialists regarding the modernization of the building berth and the reconstruction of the launching and recovery system was also informative. In the near future, NIBULON plans to make a fully automated system to control the slipway, which will exclude human factors and maximize the safety of launching/recovery of vessels.
“That’s my first experience of visiting a shipyard. So far I have only read about you and have seen your photos. And I am very impressed by size of this facility. Such a huge number of modern workshops with high-tech equipment… I do not know where else you can see such facilities. It’s nice that you take care even of the smallest details to be of high quality. It is also striking that various automated control systems in the workshops and at the slipway are individually adapted to the features of the shipyard’s work. It is very useful to us to get acquainted with the specifics of work of systems, sensors which we have seen only in pictures so far. You have a lot of shipbuilding orders and it’s cool”, shared her impressions Daryna Yurchenko.
At the end of the meeting, the specialists of NIBULON’s human resources department met with the students and told them about vacancies, having interested the guests. They noted that everyone who wanted to be employed or undergo practical training could fill in a form on the company’s official website in the section “Careers” or at the central office (9 B Falieievska, Mykolaiv).
