St. Mykolai was built in July 2013. The crane’s main goal is to complete the loading of PANAMAX vessels. Since then, it annually proves its efficiency making a significant contribution to the company’s export successes. And this allows the company to maintain its leadership in the grain market. During the first quarter of this marketing year, NIBULON shipped for export 1 411 330 tons. It is the largest volume of agricultural products shipped for export as compared to similar periods of the company’s activity. In 2018/19 MY, NIBULON plans to export 6 million tons of grain.Thanks to the vessel of this type, as well as due to Nibulonivets and Nibulnivets-2 non-self-propelled floating cranes that were constructed at its own shipbuilding and repair yard in 2016 and 2017 respectively, the share of hired cranes fell from 22,3 % to 3 %. This enables the company to save millions of hryvnias. In addition, St. Mykolai self-propelled crane not only works for NIBULON’s shipping company, but also renders loading and unloading services to third-party organizations.The daily theoretical capacity of St. Mykolai is up to 20 thousand tons which is equal the total capacity of NIBULON’s main transshipment terminal in Mykolaiv. Thus, this vessel is the most productive transshipment floating crane in Ukraine; it can replace up to 10 typical vessels operating in the Ukrainian market.However, this summer NIBULON’s fleet will receive the second high-capacity self-propelled floating vessel (P-140 project) with two cranes and a storage capacity of 13,400 m3. It will be a worthy rival to St. Mykolai. To date, the 140-m vessel is being built at the company’s shipyard in Mykolaiv. With 3.5-4.0 million tons of cargo transshipment per year, the new vessel will provide unloading of about 2 million tons per year. It will also increase the daily productivity and efficiency of the company's cargo fleet while acting as a vessel for storage during the absence of foreign going vessels.
