At present the Romanian shipbuilders continue to form the floating crane hull in dry dock. In particular, there are being completed fitter’s works on erection joints: between units No10 and No20, No20 and No30 and also on intersectional erection joints of units No10 and No30. This week there will be started welding of joints. On completion of welding the welded joints will be tested for impermeability, and erection zones will be painted.
On April 5 on the floating crane pontoon there was placed the unit of bow superstructure which consists of units No80 (aft), No60 (bow) and No90 (navigation house). Soon it will be assembled.
On April 8 on the floating crane there were put unit No50 (aft superstructure) and a crane base, the next day – a crane pillar. Assembly of Liebherr crane will be started after crane pillar welding.
Meanwhile, installation of equipment in the engine room is being continued. In particular, there has already been performed assembly of pumps: a priming pump for box coolers, a sea-water cooling pump, an oily water pump, an oil pump, a fuel transfer pump, a bilge-ballast pump, and a fire pump. In the engine room there were installed diesel-generator dewatering filters, waste heat exchangers, cooling heat exchangers of rudder propellers, air compressors, starting receivers.
On the main deck there is being continued assembly of mooring and towing equipment. Assembly of a frequency converter of propulsion motor and a heat exchanger has been started astarboard. In the ballast tanks there has been started assembly of protectors. The welded outfit for pipelines is being mounted in the vessel’s units.
We would remind you that in April there will be held a launching of the vessel for its outfitting afloat.
