Recently, on the DniproRiver bank there have been old ruined grain storages, thickets; at present the first contours of the future complex to take, store and transship grain are appearing. The address of NIBULON’s next river terminal is Bilenke village (Zaporizhzhya district, Zaporizhzhya region).
One of the initial stages is to construct a berth. According to its type and characteristics, it will not differ from those that have already been built and operated by the company along the DniproRiver and in Nova Odesa town, but it has its peculiarities. According to the project, it is the same as the berth in Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyy town in Kyiv region.
“Because of complicated surface relief, it is necessary to perform considerable volumes of earthwork”, informs Oleksandr Lytvynov, NIBULON’s engineer in construction supervision of production sector of capital construction department. “The territory is rough, has hills of different heights and a high bank. Besides, this costal territory is covered with trees, bushes, weeds. It is required to lower natural surface relief at the level of 6 meters in order to ram in metal grooves and to perform all concrete and ferroconcrete works.
During past several years NIBULON was the only company in Ukraine that constructed new berths. The berth in Bilenke village is related to typical berths: length – 105.8 m, breadth – 17 m, three-way line for movement of loading machinery, concrete surface with all necessary communications. The future complex itself is intended for storage of 55 thousand tons of grain; annual capacity is 450 thousand tons; drying capacity is 4 thousands tons per day.
Sergiy Besedin, deputy general director of construction, tells, “The peculiarity is that all the works have been started complexly, namely earthwork and assembly works to construct the berth; we have started vertical planning. Construction of transshipment terminal and administrative and laboratory building is next in turn; technological unit of the whole complex: capacities to store and dry grain, transport galleries will be constructed later… At the same time dismantling works are being performed. Twenty years ago there was grain storage – long storages with firm walls. This must be dismantled. All old buildings will be dismounted; till January 01, 2015, we must prepare the site for constructing new planned facilities. Neither outside organizations nor separate people are involved in the process; only our employees from “Kamyanka-Dniprovs’ka”, “Snigurivs’ka” branches and “Kolosivskyy elevator” Ltd. are working here. Totally, there work up to 20 persons. Thus, we ensure employment of our workers during off-season time.
Sergiy Besedin noted another peculiarity of the facility: there is practically no entry road to the future terminal. The former enterprise stopped its existence twenty years ago; since then the road has turned into entire pit. Consequently, there is a large amount of work to be done in this direction.
Mykolayiv construction organization “Gidrotechnologiya” Ltd. is working at the construction site. Its specialists have a good experience in cooperation with NIBULON. Creation of berthing infrastructure in Nova Odesa, Kozatske, Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyy is still green in mind… Now about 40 employees of this company are working in Bilenke village.
Every day the construction picture is changing; volumes of executed works are increasing. Due to contracting organizations, two thirds of the planned amount of earthwork has been performed. The same figure concerns ramming of metal groove on which reinforcing cage for concreting will be fixed. At the same time there is being conducted filling with crushed stone and granite ballast.
Winter is coming; weather conditions will worsen, thus, leading to complication of working conditions. At present we have to solve electric energy problem. Another issue concerning old treatment plants located nearby must be solved with the village council. In general, the builders are sure that their experience in previous construction of NIBULON’s facilities is the first and the most reliable guarantee of overcoming these problems. This will be confirmed in Bilenke village.
…At the end of ХVIII century in Bilenke village there were constructed bread storages and a berth. The landlord Kamenskyy who owned 20 thousand dessiatines perfectly realized the benefit from trade water way that connected the village with central provinces and the Black Sea coast. Today NIBULON is successfully reviving this idea in practice.
