On September 27, in Nova Kahovka town (Kherson region) there was held the VI International Investment Forum “Tavrian Horizons: attractiveness, cooperation, investment, economic development” with participation of above 350 persons. There were also foreign guests from Austria, Argentina, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Hungary, Greece, Georgia, India, People’s Republic of China, Saudi Arabia, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Russia, Romania, Slovakia, the USA, Turkey, France, Switzerland, Estonia, and the Republic of South Africa. Among the participants there were above 50 Ukrainian companies (including “NIBULON”) and representatives of foreign companies. The goals of the Forum were: – presentation of business opportunities of Kherson region; – demonstration of directions of development of small and medium size enterprises, investment requests in the infrastructure development and in development of investment areas; – discussion of conditions and perspectives for work of Ukrainian and foreign companies, funds, associations, financial institutions in the territory of the region. When opening the Forum, Head of Kherson Regional State Administration Mykola Kostyak addressed to those present, “An integral part of our view on the territory development process is a vision of a new role and business philosophy which consists in harmonious stable profit and complex development of the territory. In other words, “business sharks” should be changed by “business dolphins”. And we would like to create better conditions and comfort environment for their further development.” In his speech he also mentioned that an integral part of Kherson region was a social directivity of business. “The history of land development proves that there is a possibility to create socio- economic and profitable business directed to improvement of living standards and the sector development in whole”, Mykola Kostyak stressed. During the Forum its participants shared their experience in implementation of projects initiated at the previous forum. In particular, during a discussion as to experience in implementation of the investment projects, initiated at the forum in 2011, there was introduced “NIBULON’s” project on construction of the transshipment terminals in Kherson region at the cost of about UAH 170 mln each. General Director of “NIBULON”, Hero of Ukraine Oleksiy Vadaturskyy told about the company’s plans in the region. He mentioned, “I am glad to state that a part of “NIBULON’s” heart is present in Kherson region. Recently, on July 5, with participation of Mykola Kostyak we put into operation the transshipment terminal of “Kozats’ka” branch – our first terminal in this region. Consequently, we closed a logistic network of our terminals, from Kherson city to Kyiv city, along the Dnipro River, which numbers 8 transshipment terminals. At present 28 vessels and 7 tug boats of our own fleet sail on the main Ukrainian waterway including Kherson region. Besides, in your region we are going to construct two more transshipment terminals. It will allow to revive the Dnipro river as transport waterway of Ukraine. We continue to conduct dredging works near our terminals in the regions of Ukraine. Our final goal is an “employment” of the Dnipro River. It is pleasant to mention that the State Agency for Investment and National projects of Ukraine supported our proposition as to inclusion of our investment project in the list of projects having the priority value for socio-economic and cultural development (national projects). Now there is considered a question as to submitting the project for consideration by the Working Group “Implementation of national projects and investment” of the Committee for Economic Reforms. The participation of Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov in a solemn opening of the transshipment terminal of “Pereyaslavs’ka” branch, where he highly appreciated an investment activity of our company and supported an idea of giving the status “national” to the project, preceded these events. Today there is a real holiday at the Forum, an excitement dominates here. It is pleasant to communicate with colleagues, officials of the region who are not afraid of inviting investors, they create all necessary conditions for them. If every region of Ukraine followed the example of Kherson region, I can only imagine the leading positions in the world and prosperity our country would obtain.” Within the Forum Head of Kherson Regional State Administration Mykola Kostyak signed a number of memoranda with Ukrainian and foreign companies on implementation of the investment projects in the territory of the region. In particular, a relevant memorandum on further cooperation development between authorities and business in the region was signed with “NIBULON”. Oleksiy Vadaturskyy noted, “On signing the given memorandum, a new stage of investment project comes into effect. The transshipment terminal construction in Geniches’k town will contribute to development of sea transportations and sea infrastructure in Ukraine. Besides, it will stimulate the navigation revival along the Caspian Sea, the Don, the Volga rivers, and others having created a sea chain between Ukraine, Russia, Belarus with access to Kazakhstan, Iran and other countries. At present a renewal of this lost element of logistic chain is extremely important for Ukraine, its neighbors and strategic partners”.
