This programme is developed by Lviv Business School of the Ukrainian Catholic University and was initiated by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine. The programme and an excursion at NIBULON’s facilities aim to increase skills and competence of the employees of “International Trade” of the Ministry of Economic Development.  Ministry of the Agrarian Policy and Food, the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine are also among participants of the programme.
Familiarization with NIBULON is extremely and important for the full understanding of the needs of Ukrainian business. Based on the results of the programme the participants will develop sectoral strategies for the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine,
“Such meetings with business enable the participants to understand why strategies are needed, the way they are developed, what are the business problems, etc. All this is done to create sectoral strategies of high quality”, said Olena Kryzhanovska, a project manager of Lviv Business School.
During the visit to NIBULON the guests from Kyiv were extremely impressed with the capacities of its shipbuilding and repair yard, as well as with an opportunity to see the shipbuilding process with their own eyes,
“Firstly, we have an extremely privileged position. I do not think that any of the civil servants or businessmen saw how a vessel is constructed. This is an extraordinary event. If a person understands at least a little about investments, on a scale in general, then there can be no other reaction to what we see around us than “wow effect”. Our participants are heads of the departments and senior specialists of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, Ministry of the Agrarian Policy and Food. They are also impressed. We have been visiting different companies for two days and we did not even imagine how rich our country with great opportunities being implemented. There is no point to wish you development. You already know how to do it. Thank you for an opportunity to be proud of Ukraine”, said Mykhailo Vynnytskyi, an academic leader of the programme.
It was interesting for international trade experts to know that NIBULON plans and develops its strategy for the future,
“NIBULON is interesting from the point of view of the export strategy with several areas: the transshipment terminal as a gate to export and its shipbuilding and repair yard as an area that creates infrastructure for the transportation of goods. For me, as a navigator of the export strategy of Ukraine, it is very important and significant that NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard has a production plan for next years with step-by-step implementation and clear terms”, said Olesia Zaluska, a deputy director of market access and interaction with WTO, initiator of the programme.
The guests noted not only the production capacities of the shipbuilding and repair yard, the laboratory’s state-of-the-art equipment, production capabilities of the transshipment terminal, but also a social component of the company. Olesia Zaluska was impressed by the way the company respects its employees and makes great steps towards improving Mykolaiv,
“It is amazing how one could create a high-tech enterprise on an empty place in such a short period of time. I respect the work of women, so I was impressed with the number of female employees at NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard. You also employ a lot of young people, and it also deserves respect. We were impressed with a bicycle parking. It is evident that the company respects its employees.  Passenger transportation and plans for its development is a separate topic. This is not the company’s principal activity. But it has such achievements. It is very important when a company takes on social responsibility for its city development. It is thanks to business and social projects the city has an opportunity to change for the better”.
After an excursion, there was held a meeting with Deputy General Director on Trading Volodymyr Slavinskyy. The participants of the study programme received qualified answers to the questions on the company’s exports activity etc.
At the end of the meeting, the participants of the programme thanked the management for an informative visit. They also noted that was a very useful meeting and the information received during the excursion would be reflected in the sectoral strategies.
