Since March 7, 2014, according to the order of Ukrmorrichinspection, navigation was opened on the DniproRiver, Kakhovka lock and Zaporizhzhya navigational hydraulic structures; it is the area from Kherson town to the Dnipro HPP; March 15 – the Dniprodzerzhynsk and Kremenchuk locks, March 18 – the Kaniv lock. On March 28 navigation will also be opened on the Kyiv lock.
NIBULON’s shipping company is ready for the opening of navigation having guaranteed proper operation of the whole fleet. The preliminary actions included the following:
– professional, theoretical and practical training of skippers and crewmen;
– draft survey courses for the shipping company’s specialists;
– the scheduled inspection of all vessels, their technical conditions, conditions of navigation and crew performed by Ukrmorrichinspection.
Besides, in the internavigation period (winter 2013-2014) on NIBULON 1-4 tugs, St. Mykolai floating crane, NIBULON-7 dredger there were performed maintenance works and scheduled repair which lasted during vessels operation in connection with work intensity. The engines were technically inspected (in compliance with the regulation and operating hours); maintenance of the main and auxiliary engines, pumps, electrical equipment, rudder-propeller units was carried out. Revision and regulation of systems, complete or partial replacement of equipment and parts, hull and gear painting were also performed. All the works were carried out by the specialists of the shipping company and crewmen.
At the same time at the shipbuilding and repair yard “NIBULON” there was performed scheduled repair of NBL non-self-propelled vessels which included hull works, painting, replacement of hull elements and hatch covers of holds.
Since the first day of navigation commencement all the company’s vessels are in service and perform production tasks.
At present the specialists of the shipping company are preparing for acceptance of NIBULON-5 and NIBULON-6 tugs being built at the shipbuilding and repair yard “NIBULON”. The crew is being trained, and the approval documentation is being prepared. Soon they will be registered in the Shipping Register of Ukraine.
In order to ensure efficiency and safety of fleet operation, the shipping company’s management runs the fleet operation according to the approved duty table.
The complex of measures will allow to increase water transportation volume which is an efficient instrument in export increase. This navigation season the company’s fleet has already transported 210 thousand tons of agricultural products (including for export); St. Mykolai floating crane has loaded more than 556 thousand tons from non-self-propelled vessels in the outer roads of Mykolayiv Commercial Sea Port. The company plans to finish 2013/14 marketing year with a record figure of more than 5 million tons of exported products.
