The construction of the most modern transshipment terminal in Nova Odesa town of Mykolayiv region marked the beginning of the revival of navigation along the Southern Bug River. A business card of the facility in Nova Odesa town is a new revolutionary technological solution, provided with the latest equipment. In particular, the complex is equipped with three truck tippers (which will increase capacity by 1,5 times and will allow to accept three crops), 2 conveyor lines and 3 scalping machines in elevator tower, new dryers that are made by «CIMBRIA UNIGRAIN A/S» (Denmark) are installed, their capacity is 100 tons per hour and they are larger than average silos for wet grain (250 tons each); capacity of the equipment for loading «TELESTACK» (Great Britain) is increased up to 500 tons per hour. A special feature of a sandy coastal area of the Southern Bug River did not become an obstacle in construction of a new terminal. The new facility was built on 2630piles! according to a unique technology with lifting of the area by 2,5 m! Construction of the new terminal was continued despite adverse weather conditions. Winter in Ukraine has just finished, but all construction and commissioning works have been completed. Works on land improvement are at the final stage: landscaping of lawns, construction of access road from Torgova street to the terminal of “NIBULON”. Dredging works in the amount of 45 thousand cubic meters for the possibility of the dry-cargo ships passing to the berth of the new terminal are completed. Adjustment of the water area to a target depth is carried out now. Very soon two non-self-propelled vessels of “NIBULON’s” fleet will be able to moor to the berth (waterside is 120 m) at the same time! Construction of such a modern complex at a cost of UAH 190 million was supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Export Credit Fund of Denmark EKF. But today, government intervention in grain market becomes a deterrent that hinders our company to implement an investment program, our state to maintain a positive image for international financial institutions. Now we need to postpone construction of new terminals in Mykolaiv region in Shostakove village and Voznesens’k town along the Southern Bug River and construction of new non-self-propelled vessels and tugboats. We applied to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, governor of the region, mayor of the city with this issue. The construction of new elevator facilities and vessels by our company, the revival of navigation along Ukrainian rivers depends on solution of the issue now. Currently our company is forced to postpone these projects to address the issue on performance of foreign contracts on grain supply. We have to provide such explanations to our employees and partners. If problems in the grain market are solved earlier, we will be happy to immediately renew our investment activity in the regions of Ukraine. Idea of the construction of the transshipment terminal along the Southern Bug River evolved in the process of a dialogue between the head of Mykolayiv Regional State Administration M. Kruglov and General Director of “NIBULON”, Hero of Ukraine O. Vadaturskyy as to effective action for the development of Mykolayiv region. Our company has supported this initiative and entering into additional commitments, it started and completed the construction of the new transshipment terminal in Nova Odesa. Thousands of work places for builders of Mykolayiv and other regions of Ukraine and for employees of Mykolaiv shipbuilding yard “Wadan Yards Ocean” were created due to the construction of such a powerful facility in Mykolaiv region. This investment program was included in the investment passport of Mykolayiv region. In view of the real effect of the implementation of the investment program, we believe that it deserves inclusion in the State purpose-oriented program of development of investment activity in 2011-2015. We informed the President and the Prime Minister of Ukraine about our investment project. We hope that problems and obstacles, which we face while implementing the investment project, are misunderstanding. We hope that the state will create appropriate conditions for the successful implementation of the investment program to revive the Dnipro and other rivers as shipping waterways of Ukraine. Now, you can familiarize yourself with photos from the terminal in Nova Odesa town and reassure yourself that “NIBULON” can be proud of what it does today! Photo report
